Ex-Dallas Cowboys' player Kurt Vollers accused of drug possession

A former Dallas Cowboys player was arrested Thursday on drug charges, authorities said.

Kurt Vollers, 29, was taken into custody by the Irving Police Department on a charge of possession of marijuana greater than 50 pounds and less than 2,000. He was arrested shortly after 5 p.m. on the North Dallas Parkway.

Further details about the arrest were not available.

He was released from the Irving city jail about midnight Thursday. His bail was $50,000.
