Look at his career record before after Brady. 11-5 is the obvious outlier.Belichick went 11-5 with Matt Cassel starting the entire season in 2008.
Garrett went 1-6 with Cassel starting.

Ray Handly?Wouldn’t go that far….
But that wasn't just without Brady. That was without anyone.Look at his career record before after Brady. 11-5 is the obvious outlier.
Parcells won 10 games with Quincy bleeping Carter. THAT was coaching. belichick had a Bledsoe in his prime and any QB in Cleveland was better than Quincy. But that wasn't just without Brady. That was without anyone.

He's been in one for the last few years without TBYep zero chance he’d work for Jerry. Couldn’t imagine that ever.
The Commandos think they are getting them.
Can’t imagine he’d go to a situation without a good QB although they may give him full control over personnel. Problem is, he can’t win there. Chargers make the most sense to me, maybe even Seattle if they are serious about ditching Carol.
The only question is, can Dallas manage to win two games before they get slaughtered by the 49ers?So he is coming to Dallas?
Because many of our fans do not expect us to do anything.
He coached for 90'years, he had one decent year without Brady..yay.Belichick went 11-5 with Matt bleeping Cassel.
Lately his picks may not be that great but over his lengthy career in New England he built some great rosters with draft picks and free agent signings. I agree about him being too old. He would be better suited in the front office or as a consultant. They had many great players at one time, his top draft picks over the last decade or so have been pretty poor. Read any of the news coming out of the local papers there and he is getting slammed heavily for poor draft picks in recent years. The talk is that if he is to keep his job he will have to give up his full control. Yes plenty of great players at one time, but What have you done for me lately! Personally I think he’s too old at this point but someone will throw him a line I’m sure.
Just like ClevelandBelichick won’t succeed without a top-flight QB. That’s already been proven. Without Brady he wouldn’t have lasted 4 seasons as HC in New England.
Yep and it hasn’t gone well for himHe's been in one for the last few years without TB
Mccarthy is a better coach than belicheck. So if he's coach doofus Bill must be coach clueless. And there is no patriot way. Your problem is you're still under the spell. It left with Brady. You still think it was a 50/50 thingI have a whole scenario - with pros and cons - of having Belichick coach the team next year. There's a 10% chance it happens, BUT...
- He and Jerry get along
- Belichick could one-up Bill and Brady by winning with the Cowboys. Parcells called the Cowboys the "Big Table" in Vegas...and it matters.
- Belichick is a HORRIBLE evaluator of QBs and I don't care for the way he builds teams and selects talent. But once he acquires said talent, he gets the absolute best (Seymour, Gilmore, Moss, Harrison, Brady, Lawrence Taylor) out of them. Let Will McClay and the scouting team continue to supply and recommend the talent and then let Bill coach 'em up.
- Dak and the offense are pretty much set. Dak needs protection, but if provided he'll win more games than he loses nowadays. [Calm down Dak-stans...the goal is the Super Bowl not NFC East bragging rights.]
- Most, most, most importantly... he could put a forcefield around the team that would stop our loser mentality. Get Micah right, protect the identity and mentality of the team...
No, I don't think he could fully bring "the Patriot Way" here and I think he would know that. So compromises - ala Bill Parcells/Jerry - would have to be made. But I would much prefer him than Coach Doofus.
BTW that 11-5 was with a superbowl ready team not Troy Hambrick and Quincy. He coached for 90'years, he had one decent year without Brady..yay.
There's a lot for the eye to see, and what's seen has to be compared to what else is out there. As I've said elsewhere, the run blocking carries some blame for the running game problems, but so do the backs and the scheme. Using Pollard as a middle runner with a few runs to the outside is not playing him to his strengths. Then, our second back is Rico Dowdle. Anyone who thinks that is sufficient does not know what a top-notch running back looks like. Dowdle is an OK NFL runner, but that's it. If we had a 1-2 punch as good as our 1-2 punch last year before Elliott got hurt again, fans would be viewing the run blocking differently.Yes, I see our lack of running game
And don't see a top tier offensive line
Sorry, I am going with the eye test.
I thought I remember reading some comments from former coaches, but I'll have to go back and look to see if I can find them.what coaches?
