But but, they had Chris Sims (how much did they pay him to come from NJ??), and the legend Colt McCoy (in Brent Musburger voice). Lmao

Vince Young exposed Mack Brown.

Basically, Texas decided to just scrap the entire offensive playbook, snap it to VY, and let him ad-lib everything, and they won a national championship.

Perfect example of what a poorly coached and run program can do to an elite group of recruits.

Seems like some are down on Hanna, and I can't figure out why. He's an excellent blocker, and very valuable in the run game. He has also displayed good hands, and athletic ability. I believe he could put up good numbers if given a chance as a receiver.

He's a formerly awful blocker that has improved to reasonable. Let's not get carried away.

His hands were highly questionable at Oklahoma, where he made good plays but mostly disappeared for long stretches. Same here.

I've seen every game he's played since he was in a freshman. He teases, but he's very spotty in his play.

he is a better blocker then that; and that is a lot more Important the you think it is. Swaim for all his so called experience at texas is nowhere near the blocker Hanna has become. Escobar is better and that is not a nice thing.

Do you mean like Cedric Benson (still the best HS RB I have ever seen), and now Jonathan Grey (the 2nd best HS RB I have even seen!)?? Wasting that kind of talent?? ;)

Benson is the best you've seen?

You obviously never saw Adrian Peterson run in high school. And look up the name of Rodney Thomas.

The best player I've ever watched in a high school, hand down without competition, was Jesse Armstead. Holy crap, that guy was just unstoppable.

VALLEY RANCH — When it comes to lockers, Geoff Swaim might’ve drawn the shortest straw.

Swaim, like many rookies, has been forced into a shared locker as the Cowboys carry a bloated preseason roster. But Swaim’s is in a corner. Next to space-eating offensive linemen.

Such is the life for a seventh-round pick (246th overall) who walked into an already established tight end group. Jason Witten is the clear starter and one of the best to have played the position. Backup Gavin Escobar was the Cowboys second-round pick just two years ago. Third-stringer James Hanna has spent the past three years with the Cowboys, playing in every game...

Great post !!! Think Swaim could be a great TE !!!

Don't discount Hanna for the sake of Swaim. Hanna is the reason Escobar hasn't seen the field much. He blocks better, plays ST better, and when asked to receive he has. I think 4 TEs is the way we go. Swaim does look promising though. He looks to have the most potential as an all around TE compared to Hanna and Escobar.

I've seen all of them and you are right about Armstead! But go back and watch Cedric, he was the only offense Lee had and they won, what 3 State titles in a row? What Grey did was even better with crazy stats. They both looked like men playing with boys. AD was a stud, but not on there level in HS.

Hell I can remember when Flower Mound Marcus was the only offense almost in the state that ran the spread! Man times have changed!

Colt McCoy was incredible, he had Bama on the run until they killed him. He was doing pretty well in the NFL until James Harrison killed him again.

Hanna's spot is in trouble? Haven't heard that. Think Boys keep 4 te's.

This year, probably.

My thinking is that since its a contract year for Hanna they'll likely let him walk after the season and plug Swaim in in his place.

Sorry for being unclear.
