In our first drive of the second half down 27-3. He decides to punt on 4th and 6 inches. What the ****? Its win or go home and this idiot wants to punt from midfield. Then Romo blows him off and runs our first QB sneak of the year.

Its actually a smart football decision in pros to punt on 4th.
The defense that couldn't hold water and an offense that scores 6 pts. in a must win game, it was stupid to go for it. In any school team QB would be benched.
Romo is a choker.

The real game changer, IMO, was down 3-0 and the Cowboys have been moving the ball running Barber and Choice. They get down to about the Eagles 15, I think. It's 3-1 and Garrett calls a pass. Everybody looked lost and Roy "Soft" Williams was acting like he was afraid of the ball and didn't want it. Well, he got it and a three yard loss.

If we ran the ball, we probably get the one yard and a possible score. instead of going up by 4, it's a tie game.

:hammer:

And to think that there are people here who want the Phillips regime to stay.

The old Romo would have scrambled, but this Romo is being coached by Garret and Wilson...

Not rely, but Romo is playing a role of a different QB than he is.

We were down 24 points. The punt-and-play-the-game-of-field-position boat sailed away long ago in that situation.

If it was 4th and 7, yeah, you punt. But 4th and inches? I was surprised there was even a question when I was watching it live.

It wouldn't make a difference. They lost the second they stepped on the field. A team w/ no heart.

Nope, they lost the second Wade and Co stepped foot on the field, everyone was pumped up ready to go then they looked at who was making the calls.

Romo going for it on 4th down shying away the punt team explains it all.

Jason Garrett always seems to try and get cute with the offense when things are going well. Rather than continue to force the opponent to stop us, he decides to get way ahead of himself and call a play that both the defense and offense aren't expecting.

Whatever happened to running the football to set up playaction?

Odds were overwhelmingly in our favor on that 4th and inches. Game situation dictated going for it, too.

Curious to hear what the explanation for the apparent confusion between coach and QB was, though.

This is the result of a team that is undisciplined. This play may not have mattered but in the overall results (most penalties and turnovers) proof is in the pudding.

Actually, Romo made the correct call.

Only a complete dumb-arse like Wade would send out the punt team on 4th and inches at midfield down 24 in an elimination game.

Its just mind boggling that Wade would even think of punting, thankfully Romo was still coherent enough after the beating he took to realize this.

And according to Romo no one was blown off the play came in from the sidelines via the helmet speaker.

My understanding was that the punt team was initially called and then the coaches quickly changed their minds ... causing some confusion among the players. Romo, of course, knew what was going on because he has the radio helmet. Thus, he was waving the punt team off.

Really, let's not make a volcano out of an anthill.

for some reason he is afraid to play a power game. the deon anderson 4th down run against the steelers, the roy williams screen pass on 3rd and 1 against the eagles...too many shotgun draw plays and trying to trick people instead of getting behind our huge OL and pounding the ball until the stop us.
