There is a absolutely no reason to keep Zeke around which is precisely the reason why this FO will keep him on the roster.

Im hoping the rumors of them asking him for a massive paycut are. Also hoping Zeke's agent thinks he can sell Zeke's raw stats from the last two years to see team and they balk at a pay cut and he gets released

It's not about just the Run Game ... it's the totality of the RBs .. what the coaches plan, scheme-design and how they will develop and utilize the RBs .
..in Both run and pass game.

- And speaking of OL ? .... that's where a hopeful much better RB screen game comes in...

- That will be new coaching and the OL tools they will have handy, as i believe we have athleticism to factor in getting out on screens
(like what we used to in the old 2016/2017 Zeke days)

- Kellen Moore seemed like he hated RB screens and never tried to develop it as a weapon,.

Can't disagree......I think the OL needs a high draft pick. I saw too many missed blocks from our OL and the thoughts that we have a pretty good run blocking OL......we don't. And if not.....Posters are going to find out Zeke hasn't been the sole issue, in regards to the running game. Mark it down, if OL isn't addressed. TPollard will be excused early because of injury.

- i actually don't think we have a bad OL .. .i actually think its' one of the better OL units in the NFL. Not the best but among those.

- I'm for upgrading the LG role, but i dunno about investing in a high pick to do so. ..i could easily see one being a mid-round pick.
Much rather see this one thru FA, than spend a upper pick on it ... but we know Stephen- Moneyball

- As far as Pollard, I'll state that if we beat up, ..over-use and pound Pollard to the ground,.. like we did Zeke (see Garrett) ..
... that's where we will lose Pollard to an eventual injury.... or he will quickly declined physically by being pounded/overused with da utter quickness
... ala Chris Johnson, Shady McCoy, etc.

- Give me the coach that knows the in-between

Pollard is the example that i'd use in measuring the RBs and the run game. Not Zeke.
It's a reason why there's the talk of him taking a pay cut .. or be cut. Even ZKE himself knows he's a declining player and willing to consider a pay cut.

Run game blocking: another reason to be optimistic with a new offensive approach- ala McCarthy, Schottenheimer and OL coach Mike Solari

I notice you keep mentioning the Run Game ..while i'll keep making mention of the RBs in the pass game.
That's where i believe Pollard could have a McCaffrey or Aaron Jones like impact in the pass game, per screens, isolations (see wheel route TD vs VIkes)

For years we left a deadly weapon on the bench which the previous OC just flat did not have a clue how to scheme Pollard's abilities.

I would certainly address Tyron Smith. Though a mainstay, injuries have hampered. Need Steele to get recovered. And add another OL, at minimal......for depth. We need "dawgs". It is reported Cowboys didn't represent at HBCU combine. (???) That is really bafflin' since some our best OL has come from smaller schools (Big E, Nate, Larry Allen) to name a few. As for Peters.....appreciate the effort and thanks but we're going younger. Just my 2 cents.

I mention run game for balance. Somebody has to run the ball......sometimes. Are you contemplating TPollard becomes a Deebo? Got no problem with passing, but there comes a time when running is necessary......short yardage, 4 minute drill, 2 minute drill, etc. And I agree that TPollard shouldn't be ran in the ground as Zeke was early. I mention OL because at some point we need to get back to chances to pound & gash like our defense has been inflicted upon, with teams that can run.......just for balance.

And agree new offensive scheme may help, as I always thought KMoore looked for every opportunity to get away from a run game.

Unless you're set on making this No.2 backup more of a Frank Gore type role, where he's strictly an angry grunt runner. .

A Mark Ingram or AJ Dillion type ? " Thunder and Lighting " role set for both backs ?

That is the fear. But something tells me McCarthy wouldn't force Elliott into the offense other than as a role player. I think Elliott's role was larger because Moore was the one running the O.

Spears is one of those guys I would have my eye on in those middle rounds. Also Evans from Ole Miss and McIntosh from UGA. McIntosh is more a Pollard clone but still a really good TB IMO.

You can't complain about no RB screens and talk about keeping fat Zeke in the same post. Fat Zeke is literally one of the worst receiving options at RB in the history of the entire NFL and I am not exaggerating.

You rounded to 400 rushes and 1800 yards and then someone does the math and says, hey, "4.5 yards per carry ain't bad".

But that's a massaging of those numbers. He actually had 468 carries the last two years (so closer to 500 carries than 400) and 1878 yards which works out to only 4.0 yards per carry, which is pretty mediocre, especially for the cap hits he's eating up.

I would love to see this team have a running game like it had in 2014 and 2016. When you can run, it takes huge pressure off your QB. He doesn't have to make pinpoint-accurate throws on every play. If the run is a serious threat, other teams have to bring up 7- and 8-man fronts to try to stop it. That opens up throwing lanes and creates one on ones. It makes it so you can succeed with a good, but not great, QB.

I want a great running game whether Dak is our quarterback or someone else is.

and at this early point pre-draft, i'm also thinking it's likely to be a mid round, 4th round type RB..... in the same sense we drafted Pollard in the 4th round.
