Yep.

I'm not believing any more hype that I read. Heck, Canty, Spears, Ware, etc were going to make this defense Doomsday II.

It would be great if the back up WR's were quality guys.

But I'm waiting to see it on the field.

Agreed...And I'll take it one step further as i posted yesterday...I hope they don't make the field....because if they do we have problems with our starters...Glenn with a knee injury and our 4th round draft choice can't do anything to help the team....I'll take Glenn healthy and Green making plays thank you....I don't want to see Hurd or Austin...

Let's see....he's also raved about Jamaica Rector...i don't see him anywhere on the field....

This is actually surprising that they wouldn't promote Rector from the PS. He is the most like Glenn, had great chemistry with Romo in the Preseason, and can return kicks.

Baffling to me.

Romo has been in the system for 4 years.....Sam Hurd and Myles Austin....are rookies....completely different....

Glad someone picked up on the obvious differences.

Yeah, well so is a guy out in New Orleans who wears #12. That doesn't seem to bother his production.

The learning curve for wide receiver is significantly different than for the QB position.

Oh i forgot...we should compare all of the rookie free agent WR's to 1 Marcus Colston....since he did it that means all of them can if given a chance....

I'm sorry. You're the one who used the rookie comparison, not me. I just rebutted you with your own medicine.

My own medicine? I don't want to see Hurd or Austin have to play...and was giving reasons why they shouldn't unless needed....not just to "see what they have"...you are giving a reason why they should play....since Colston can do it...i guess these guys can to...

Here's my biggest concern...forgetting about the WR's.

We've been remarkably injury free this year...and are still only 4-4...sooner or later the injuries are going to happen.

Then what?

I am really sad to see the injury to TG :( :( He has been a total stud for us. I am not writing him off yet.

I will admit that TG and Romo have not been in sync.

I will be excited to see Hurd get a bunch more playing time. Romo and Hurd have had really good chemistry since preseason.

Parcells has really heaped some impressive comments about Miles so I can't wait to watch him do the KR.

Who cares.... I'd be excited if Ted Ginn, Calvin Johnson, or Dwayne Jarret were getting some PT , not some undrafted FA's..

It would be on thing if you get up for out top pick to finally contribute but getting excited about two of them just shows us a depth issue...

I gave no reason for anything of which you're talking about. I merely pointed out that being a rookie doesn't mean that you can't produce on the football field. Colston is evidence of this fact. So is Bush. Moss was evidence of this as well. And that is what 5 Stars was talking about. Just because you haven't seen any real NFL action, doesn't mean that you can't produce on it.

BP knows better than anyone who is ready and who isn't. So, if he says Hurd or Austin can take the field now, I have no problems with that.

That is the problem...We are just over .500 without a playoff win in the past 4 years....BP might be problem...ya think? Or is that just crazy....

I don't know. I thought we were talking about rookie wide receivers and their ability to play and contribute on the field.

Everyone who seems to be anti-BP likes to criticize him for his lack of playoff wins (forgetting that he's improved the overall organization and talent level tremendously), but who is available out there that you would rather have? I can't think of a single coach.

Don't expect too much from Hurd or Austin. Their both rookies and rookie WR's rarely make an impact

Why is Crayton not getting TG's spot? He's more proven than both those guys.

Santana Moss is not a rookie and he makes the same impact-less contributions.

This whole thread is about being happy to see them play because we have no other choice. If TG wasn't hurt do you think I would of created this thread? No I wouldn't of.

I enjoy the hope of the future and have been sick of the old players for quite sometime. I am glad to see the youngsters play. Plus Hurd has not played like a rookie he has always shown a knack for stepping up. So to classify him as another undrafted player is silly.

Who cares? Cowboy fans care. BP is one of the best talent evaluators that has ever been in the NFL. Having said that I give BP credit when he praises players.

For those of you asking about Rector the reason we don't hear about him is due to Austin Miles.

Of course, rookie receivers can play..surprisingly well sometimes. We've got one on this team who caught 90 passes as a rookie.

Sick of the old players or not, I doubt anyone prefers to see Hurd over Glenn in a critical game, if merely for the defensive attention TG merits

But when a starting player is hurt, you can't do anything else but wish his replacement the very best.

I think Sam will do just fine if he plays tomorrow.

I would give anything for TG to be healthy :(

I am rejuvenated as a fan after seeing Romo take the helm. There is something special about seeing the future or what is unknown instead of already knowing what you have.

A lot of fans were torn up over the Commanders loss but I was a lot worse after the Philly one. The future holds a lot of promise in my opinion.
