Excitement Level Heading into the Season

The start of training camp is always an exciting time for me. Much like spring, it is a time of renewal and hope.

This year is especially exciting: no off-field drama, a good draft, continuity of coaching. What's not to like?

Also - I expect people in here predicting 8-9 will be telling everyone in here how awful we are when we are at 11 wins and that he expects more of this team.

I'm excited as always this time of year. However, I'm not jumping on the bandwagon again, until I see we are playing well in December. They will get no more premature buy ins from me. I'll be cautiously optimistic.

Not very hopeful for the upcoming season, but that doesn't mean there is nothing to be excited about. I want to see how these young receivers perform under pressure.

I made a similar thread after the playoff loss last year and things felt more bleak than hopeful, but a new season is around the corner, so I wanted to check in and see how everyone is feeling about it.

Given what we currently know about the roster and overall team/organization dynamic, what are you expecting/hoping for out of the season?

Yes, I know I'm mostly known as a hater around here, so I'm sure nobody will be shocked to hear that I'm not overly optimistic about 2022. It seems the roster got worse and then Stephen & Jerry are spinning it, per usual, by trying to voice their "confidence" in all the young guys.

Overall though, I'm still feeling the hangover from the 49er loss.

I'm struggling to find much excitement and that's a very foreign feeling for me concerning the Cowboys, especially in August.

Anyways, I'm rambling. How do y'all feel???

In all honesty, I don't expect much from this team. You bet I am jaded; however, I do long for Sunday afternoons in the fall. I am looking forward to some fall yardwork, some good meats smoking and the game getting ready to come on TV. Who knows, maybe this team will surprise me this year.

I'm expecting more of the same. 9 or 10 wins and a 1st round playoff loss. Rinse and repeat.

I have seen nothing from the offseason to give me hope for anything better than that. In fact it may be worse.

WR keeps coming up as a concern. This is a pass first NFL
TE after Schultz is weak
OL is replacing 2 starters .
Jerry wants the team to focus more on run and Zeke (prob because hes getting 18mm this year). Zeke is in his declining years.
the defense seems to be improved and working as a group under Quinn. LB seems improved and a strength. Think we will miss not replacing Gregory. Think Diggs will regress just a little as teams learn how to play him.
We have a HC that cant run a 2 minute clock-that will cost us at least 1 game.

Even tho we keep saying we were 12-5 last year. we were also 6-5 in our last 11 games including a poorly played wildcard game
maybe our defense can carry us to win more but but see us winning 6-9 games

I am excited to see if Diggs can combine his ability to make the big play, with solid, fundamental cover skills

I am excited to see if Parsons can build off his big rookie year. Maybe make more plays in the passing game. Make plays behind the LOS in the run game. Continue to pressure the QB. Basically, can he become Sean Lee minus the injuries. I know that is a lot to ask, but hey, I can't wait to find out.

I am excited to see the 1st rookie OL, the 2nd rookie DE, and the 3rd rookie WR

I am excited to see if we can pace Zeke and get a complete season out of him

I am excited to see if we have cleaned up the penalties.

I am excited to see if CeeDee can become a #1

Feel about the same as you,
Really as long as Jerry is the GM I know we are not going to sniff another SB.
But I enjoy watching the games to see how all the story lines play out.
And who knows maybe I am wrong and "Jerry's Way " works and we do win a SB
Would be very glad to be wrong!

I don't like our schedule or trust the offense. I still think Dak's bum leg will give him trouble from time to time. But I love the defense. I think we will win a playoff game.

tyler smith will have a bigger impact than amari cooper has had in the last two years mark that down

I am still very meh about the season. I am not going to plan anything around watching or attending games. if it happens, it happens. I am not going to be at the edge of my seat. I probably will plan to watch the second round playoff game if we get there.

I almost don't care what happens to this team. 28 years...I am beatedn to a pulp mentally with this team and with Jerry jones.
