I'd like to think this too and we thought that in Romo's second year as starter in 2007.

Team will lose some talent, close games will even out. 10 wins may be a struggle.

I know you don't want to hear it right now, but as a football coach for the last 30 years, I can assure you the Cowboys staff is already looking at the future. I'm excited about it. So glad that the offense played well and we don't have to argue about Dak vs Romo or whether we should trade Dez. We all know that we need an upgrade on defense, hopefully Jaylon Smith will regain to full strength. Anyway, glass half full. Go Cowboys! I know it's toughs but it's better than being a Browns fan.

First up is trying to thwart any coaching interests on the Dallas staff, by other teams...

nothing the nfl is for for sure next year or the next I have confidence that this coaching staff or head coach is capable of winning any thing until the prove to me they can win I just don't trust them at all.
yeah it aint the players, give bellichek this same team , and he would win a sb.

So we need a perfect team?

Meanwhile the Falcons and Packers are playing for a chance to go to the Super Bowl with rosters worse than ours and defenses worse than ours.
LOL JG needs a perfect team, and even then he might not get past the div round !

As much as I am upset with the loss, I'm excited about next year. I look at this team like it's the 1991 Cowboys. We just need a new Charles Haley to come in and help this defense.

If we learned anything from the GB game, it's that we're on the right track but there's a sufficient amount of work to be done, especially on the defense. It's been over 20 years since we've been a contender, so it should be obvious by now that this team is just beginning to turn the corner. This team must rebuild its defense to return to full legitimacy. A refortified pass rush and secondary should desperately require attention in the upcoming offseason and draft. Hopefully, a highly capable vet FA or two might also find rightful places on this defense, especially at DE and CB.

The FO's willingness to not only accept but welcome injured players is an inclination that should rightfully be corrected. We have far too many players on the defensive side of the ball who aren't available for various types of chronic injury problems. Here's hoping our future rosters include many more defensive players capable of actually being active, as opposed to residing on the inactive, IR or PUP lists.

Hey, FO, let's not waste our resources on the walking wounded any longer. It's well past time to seek out those who can quickly contribute and not linger indefinitely in rehab.

Scary(relative of course) thing about the NFL is that the future is never certain.

Injuries, regression, ego, cap issues, early retirement etc

While I feel confident about Zeke and Dak, we still work in other places and who knows how the chips may fall next year.

13-3, stings when we get bounced in the divisional round, again.

This team overachieved in the regular season and you could see the regression in December. The sky is the limit for the offense but it was like that before the year began. The defense needs about 6 new starters.

I think whether we want to admit it or not, Aaron Rodgers is good enough to carry a lesser team. I don't know how anyone who has watched football over the past nine years can be surprised at what he did yesterday. As far as defenses go, our guys have played hard all year and outperformed any and all expectations. The fact remains however that the talent on the defensive side of the ball is less than championship caliber and we could not hide that yesterday. If we could pressure the passer the way Atlanta does, I have no doubt we'd be seeing them in Arlington next week. I also think Matt Ryan, Julio Jones, Devonta Freeman, Tevin Coleman, Deion Jones and the league sack leader would argue your roster claim.

I think Atlanta spanks GB next week, but in the NFL ya just never know.

I think we have more talent than they do, they just know how to use their players.
JG would have trouble if you gave him the all pro team to play GB lol
