We had an excellent winning streak, mostly at home, topped off but a dominating win vs the hated Ugles. Then we traveled to Buffalo and looked PATHETIC in EVERY WAY, except our MVP kicker.

Don’t listen to the excuse makers. The game vs the Fins is important! IF WE WANT TO DO ANYTHING in the playoffs we need a win vs the Fins. It doesn’t need to be a dominating win, though that would give me way more confidence going forward, but it does need to be a WIN!!!!!

The players must prove to themselves they can beat a good team on the road!!

All that being said, being a long time realistic fan, and from what I have seen this year, I am not confident we will win.
This team is starting to look like the same team as the last few years. Good enough to make the playoffs, but not good enough to beat a good team on the road in the playoffs. I hope I am wrong AND we go on to kick the crap out of the Fins, get the 2nd seed, and BEAT the hated Whiners in the NFC Championship!!!!!! Then kick butt in the Superbowl!!!!!
Agree . A win may not win the division unless the eagles lose , which is unlike. But the team has to show they can win a significant game on the road in the playoffs especially. A loss will solidify the one and done mentality and the 29 year wait continues …..

Would be nice to have at least one home playoff game.

Going to Tampa and beating a so-so team Tampa team (they might actually be a little better than last year), then getting beat by San Fran again would probably bruise my soul for a couple weeks. :)
If we get the 2nd seed we could have 2 playoff games at home before we play the hated Whiners. Maybe they would get banged up in their first playoff game! Maybe we would have some serious confidence. Maybe Mazi and Hankins will be a formidable defensive wall before we meet the Whiners.

All we can do is hope for the best.

It was a bit of a joke. If you read it differently that as intended...one would NOT have a disorder.

"lack of sleeping disorder". = being able to sleep.

That's the way most of my jokes go...flat!

:)
You can read that 2 ways. If reading it the way you intended = LOL

It doesn't matter if we win this game or not, as we don't control our own destiny. We need to go 2-1 over the last 3 games with that one loss coming against any team other than Washington. If that happens and Philly loses one of their last 3 against any team, we win the division, which I think is exactly what will happen.

I'm tired of reading about so-called fans dogging the Cowboys about anything. We were the 2nd team in the NFL to clinch a playoff spot this year. That was goal #1. Goal #2 is to try and win the division. We probably won't get the #1 seed, so the next goal is to win our first playoff game.

For the record, I think the Cowboys will roll to victory tomorrow.
It does matter if we win this game.

If we win this game it gives us a better chance of winning the division AND it gives us confidence we can beat a very good team on the road.

Just because a fan does not think the team is going to win a certain game does not mean they are dogging the team. Fans can hope for a victory, while thinking their team will probably lose.

Like I said...it's very simply virtue signaling. They NEED to show how much better of a fan they are than you. Sad.

I think it matters too. I think it matters that we play well...and make very few mental mistakes on the field AND sideline. If we do that it's likely a win.

I don’t think you understand what I am saying. My expectations are not to high at all. There are 32 teams in the NFL, so the AVERAGE NFL team should be able win a Super Bowl once every 32 years. We have not even won an NFC Championship in 28 years!!!!!!! We have not sniffed a Superbowl victory in 28 years!!!!
It sounds logical but it doesn't work that way. In the last 32 years, the Pats won 6 times, Dallas and Denver 3 times each, then a bunch of 2 time winning teams. Many teams haven't won. And the rules for most of this era favor parity.

If you make your cut line 1995; yeah Dallas looks bad as far as SBs. Change it to 1992 and they are top 3. See how that works. Sure, I'd love them to win or be in one but I'm satisfied with them piling winning seasons on top on one another. Things could be much worse.

If we are tied with Philly, we need them to lose to the Giants, and we need to beat Washington. We win best record in division tie breaker.
Yes. We need the Eagles to lose one more game regardless of what we do. But if we win out, it won't matter who they lose to, cards or Giants. IF we lose another game, we're going to need them to lose to the Giants only.

That's on the GM to put a team on the field that can do it. And hire a coach that can take them there. If you don't do those two things it could take 100 years.

In the entire history of the Cowboys they've only reached the NFC championship game or better two times when they weren't a 1st or 2nd seed. How many times since 1995 have the Cowboys been a top seed? Twice. Once with Wade Phillips, the other time Jason Garrett. Two goofballs as head coaches. To me it makes sense that we haven't reached an NFCCG since 1995. Every time we make the playoffs it's an uphill battle.

I think if we lose to the Dolphins, and the Eagles lose to the Cardinals, they'll still win the division. We would need them to lose to the Giants.
i don’t think that’s right. If the Eagles lose to the cards and we lose 1 but beat Washington, it’ll go to the conference tie breaker, which we would win, as we’d both have the same number of wins in the division, but we’d have a better conference record. (7-4 v. 6-4)

I don't think it really matters. It will come down to playing the Niners on the road.

here are my 2 excuses.....

1. We have a fat lazy slob of a coach reflective in being that this slop team by far has the most penalties the NFL!!!!?!?

2.We have a week minded, spineless in the huddle, QB who has absolutely ZERO confidence on the road.... aww does poor Dak baby need his home town teddy bear??!?!?!?

Pathetic...... to do so well in the season and at the end do this?!?!!?!

Dak gets paid entirely too much! He ant worth ****

It doesn’t give us a better chance of winning the division, it would just mean that we could lose the Detroit game without consequence, as no matter what happens, the Eagles have to lose a game.

As for confidence, did you ever play football? These guys don’t lack confidence ever. I’m watching the start of the 2nd half as I write this. We’ve fumbled on the 1 foot line and the refs gifted the Dolphins a TD with that bogus roughing call. That’s an 11 point swing. If we Iose by 10, the team is going to feel plenty confident. The whole ‘mental toughness’ ‘confidence’ and other buzzwords to describe a mental state are mostly nonsense.

It doesn't matter what our conference record is. We'd lose the common games tie breaker. Which comes before conference.
