Execs, coaches, scouts rank top NFL quarterbacks for 2026

More like top 10 out of 70+ quarterbacks in the league

You were at 64 just a short time ago. Found a way to move the goalposts out to 70+?

Can't make this stuff up.

There are 32 starting QB jobs in the NFL. Period.

Tough to read for the people who formed an opinion on Dak in 2017 and never came off of it lol
Some of us have no issue with differing opinions. It doesn't sound like you are one of them complaining genetically about people who don't agree with you.

One of the constants with this orginization has been that when the offense is up the defense is down and vice versa.

Alot of good to great players haven't gotten to the promised land here unless they went to other teams

Continue debating, arguing and lactating until we get there.
That's Jerry's wack a mole team building philosophy. He's always filling holes as opposed to maintaining what he has and building on it.

Check the wording....sounds deceptive.

"ESPN surveyed league executives, coaches and scouts to help us rank the top 10 players at 11 different positions."

All of the executives, coaches and scouts? I highly doubt it. Most of them have better things to do this time of the year. How many of them? 30? 10? 3?
I have been posting many times about the unnecessary anonymous media sourcing, especially by sports media, going back to the early days of this site. It has been used so often during the past two or so decades that it has evolved into a journalistic norm. The practice is rarely questioned in the present day. It has genuinely become a 'trust me, bro, without verification' of information conveyed to the public.

It is a ranking, pure and simple. What is the motivation for not identifying those offering their opinions of the top NFL quarterbacks? What? Potential hurt feelings???

/very old rant

Pretty much my point. Evan, Canty and Michelle show Undisputed on ESPN U. I think it's a New York-based radio show, and some shmuck trying to be contrarian just because. I don't hate Hurts, but to suggest he should be in the Top 10 based on his last couple of years is just ignorance. He thinks he is also in the running for MVP, when realistically, any of Mahomes, Allen, Burrow, Jackson and Dak have a much better chance out of the gate. The only thing Hurts has going for him is no AJ, so perhaps this was his issue the last couple of years

More like top 10 out of 70+ quarterbacks in the league every year. 32 of them are just starters. It is very difficult to play and last multiple years in professional NFL football especially at the quarterback position.

So to be in the top 10 out of 70+ other quarterbacks in the NFL is a pretty good accomplishment. Is it the goal? No. But being top 10 in any professional sports league is a damn good thing.

Its hilarious that its downplayed to be top 10 in the NFL at one 9f the most difficult positions to play, when you have blue chip collegiate, award winning players who may come into the NFL and may not be top 20 at their positions for multiple years.
No lies told.

The media does this all the time. It would seem far more legitimate if names were mentioned in this survey.

I'm to the point where I don't trust the media to conduct a fair, unbiased and scientific survey.

I'm not saying that Dak doesn't deserve the ranking of #6. I just doubt that it is the perception among the majority of NFL officials.

When comparing two QBs, I try to imagine their level of success if they switched teams with each other.

I look at a guy like Justin Herbert and wonder how he would have performed with the Cowboys offensive line and receivers.

Would Dak have performed better with the Charger's offense?

Could Dak take the Patriots back to the Super Bowl?

These surveys are far too arbitrary to have any value at all.
Herbert has had a stacked team for years. He doesn’t get the excuse of weapons. As a matter of fact you can argue he has better weapons than Dak. Hampton is gonna be a stud. Have three good receivers.

So Dak is better going into year 11 than year 2.
Same result then and now but he did have his legs back then. He was never a big play runner in college. He got the tough yards between the tackles. He was strong as an ox. He should be a lot smarter now but he has a lot of the same mental breakdowns now as he had in year 2. You can’t fix……

Anytime someone uses the 2-5 comment to crap on Dak, I write them down as not having a clue.
It's a stat for a reason. You can obviously dismiss it. But enough don't that it's widely tracked. Unlike say an RB's playoff record.

The teams Bradshaw played on were outstanding, probably better than New England's teams. Defenses were much more physical in the 60's and 70's also and I remember Pittsburgh was always at the top of the league in that category.
Brady used to take a slot receiver and a RB out of the backfield and win SBs. He could make lemonade out of lemon peels.

Yeah, but a QB’s ability is heavily based on the team around him as well. Like Dak isn’t the 6th best QB in the world if he was a Panther or a Raider, and he may be even higher if he were a Ram. Imagine if Brady got drafted by Washington or Jacksonville, where would he be right now.

So when I say “Bradshaw wasn’t good enough, yes I’m implying him and his offense or him and his team.
Where was NE when Brady took over? Like Buffalo before Allen.
