Seems like the coaches see he has more physical gifts than Rush and want him to take that job. Last year they were saying his camp was going well before he got nicked up and missed time.

Going to be hard to overcome 4-1 from Rush but with the bottom third offensive numbers he put up, I see why you’d want to upgrade.

Rush signed a new contract that guaranteed this current year. He's the backup. As has been posted, Grier is trying to convince them to keep him on the 53. He's failed so far.

I don't even think I'm going to watch. The Mortal Kombat 1 beta is out now. Haha.

Grier has the talent, but he makes lots of dumb/costly mistakes. If he could improve on his decision making and reduce his mistakes, he could easily supplant Cooper Rush. Tomorrow's game will be revealing to see if Grier can improve or not.

If Grier does not replace Rush, can't Grier be placed on the practice squad but still be protected from being stolen by other teams?

Grier will throw multiple ints. Seattle will feast. He's a risk taker. He is what he is. I just wanna see Deuce and Tolbert. We need 2 see Rico do well. Another thing will be Stephens and Hendershot. Which guy wants it. I think Hendershot is on the bubble.

I think this is exactly what the Staff should do, I would even go as far as to start Grier a la Big Tuna gave Romo a whole preseason game to evaluate him. Now Grier is no Romo, but if he can't win the QB2 role this season it's time to cut bait, and find a QB next draft to compete for QB2.

Cooper rush has a weak arm I think he got lucky when he went 4 and 1 last year, everything just went the cowboys way in those wins. And he's a statue to sack in the pocket.

Well, I think part of it is, they know Cooper has a limit .
Potentially Will has a bigger upside.
It was clear by the last couple of games Rush's arm was tired and really beginning to go away a bit.
While Prescott and Rush will fit nicely in this offense. I think Greer potentially has a few more arrows in his quiver and they're likely exploring that.

It's time to keep Rush and Grier which gives them good depth at the position.

I think when cuts happen soon we can easily find a better QB 3 than Grier. Time to get a QB ready.

Grier is no Rush. He is 2 risky. I feel unless he balls, he will be cut.
