If he is cut, he would be brought back to the practice squad.Grier is no Rush. He is 2 risky. I feel unless he balls, he will be cut.

where he better stay.If he is cut, he would be brought back to the practice squad.
Nah not for me, we differ here. I'd much rather keep an extra skill player over a QB3.It's time to keep Rush and Grier which gives them good depth at the position.
Seems like the coaches see he has more physical gifts than Rush and want him to take that job. Last year they were saying his camp was going well before he got nicked up and missed time.
Going to be hard to overcome 4-1 from Rush but with the bottom third offensive numbers he put up, I see why you’d want to upgrade.
Yeah, but that was a good thing in hindsight you got to see some of those players like deuce Vaughn and some of the backup wide receivers and tight ends make some great catches on some bad passes and we didn't get that last year. they wouldn't even catch the good passes, so in a way it could help having some practice catching off target passes...lol.Grier pretty much sucked last week so hopefully he improves. The coaches may want to see more of him just to see if he is worth keeping.
I believe you're allowed to protect a certain amount of practice squad players like a quarterback. that way that rule kicks in you can bring a quarterback three that doesn't count on the active list but it's an emergency quarterback in a game, but I believe you can also not have them count against the 53 on the practice squad but also protect them from being taken.... I could be mistaken but I'm pretty sure that rule is in place since COVID....Nah not for me, we differ here. I'd much rather keep an extra skill player over a QB3.
With the new rule. You keep a 3rd qb in case you lose 2.Nah not for me, we differ here. I'd much rather keep an extra skill player over a QB3.
What is Mariota?Grier is horrible I watched him closely the other night to see if he's an NFL ready QB and guess what he's not. The guy locks in on one receiver and he throws it to him and like I said the one read qb.
Keep in mind a new rule was passed allowing a 3rd QB on the roster for emergencies. I believe they won’t count against the normal gameday numbers.Grier has the talent, but he makes lots of dumb/costly mistakes. If he could improve on his decision making and reduce his mistakes, he could easily supplant Cooper Rush. Tomorrow's game will be revealing to see if Grier can improve or not.
If Grier does not replace Rush, can't Grier be placed on the practice squad but still be protected from being stolen by other teams?

Trying to evaluate a QB in the preseason when they are playing with a complete band of misfits is nigh on impossible.Grier is horrible I watched him closely the other night to see if he's an NFL ready QB and guess what he's not. Grier has the physical gifts but makes about 3 highly questionable throws a game.Grier has the talent, but he makes lots of dumb/costly mistakes. We need Grier to keep getting live reps, game time live action reps.Grier has the physical gifts but makes about 3 highly questionable throws a game.

Ok, so if Grier wouldn't count against the 53 it's all good. With the new rule. You keep a 3rd qb in case you lose 2.
True, but would Grier still count against the 53 man roster?Keep in mind a new rule was passed allowing a 3rd QB on the roster for emergencies. I believe they won’t count against the normal gameday numbers.
