Seems like the coaches see he has more physical gifts than Rush and want him to take that job. Last year they were saying his camp was going well before he got nicked up and missed time.

Going to be hard to overcome 4-1 from Rush but with the bottom third offensive numbers he put up, I see why you’d want to upgrade.

they didn't re up Cooper rush's contract IF to have will Grier take the backup job....

you do realize they just gave him a two year contract I believe I know it's not a giant contract but it's not one you would throw away so I think that you're off base I mean it'd be nice if will Greer shows a little more I would like to see Cooper rush for the entire first half a real Greer for the entire second-half,, now game three let him play the whole game.. But I think Cooper rush needs a little work and I don't think they're going to not play him..

By the way you guys are weird first do you think Cooper rush is good enough to take Prescott 's job at times and now you think that Greir might be better than Cooper rush after Cooper rushed just got a new deal.. The bipolar opinions in here are crazy..

Lastly I think both of them need to work because I saw Cooper rush throw as many off target passes as Greir and they don't get much in season work so I think that they both need 1/2 this game and like I said I think will Greer should get the entire game in the last game...

Grier pretty much sucked last week so hopefully he improves. The coaches may want to see more of him just to see if he is worth keeping.
Yeah, but that was a good thing in hindsight you got to see some of those players like deuce Vaughn and some of the backup wide receivers and tight ends make some great catches on some bad passes and we didn't get that last year. they wouldn't even catch the good passes, so in a way it could help having some practice catching off target passes...lol.:muttley:

By the way I saw quite a few off target passes by Cooper rush as well I think they both need I have this game and let will Greer play the entire game the last preseason game...

Nah not for me, we differ here. I'd much rather keep an extra skill player over a QB3.
I believe you're allowed to protect a certain amount of practice squad players like a quarterback. that way that rule kicks in you can bring a quarterback three that doesn't count on the active list but it's an emergency quarterback in a game, but I believe you can also not have them count against the 53 on the practice squad but also protect them from being taken.... I could be mistaken but I'm pretty sure that rule is in place since COVID....

Grier is horrible I watched him closely the other night to see if he's an NFL ready QB and guess what he's not. The guy locks in on one receiver and he throws it to him and like I said the one read qb.

They can't want that all day but it won't happen. They need somebody else to beat out Rush.

Grier has the talent, but he makes lots of dumb/costly mistakes. If he could improve on his decision making and reduce his mistakes, he could easily supplant Cooper Rush. Tomorrow's game will be revealing to see if Grier can improve or not.

If Grier does not replace Rush, can't Grier be placed on the practice squad but still be protected from being stolen by other teams?
Keep in mind a new rule was passed allowing a 3rd QB on the roster for emergencies. I believe they won’t count against the normal gameday numbers.

Very good comp, that is what we want everywhere but esp at QB2 when the comp is available.
Grier should be pushing Rush, and Rush should be reponding.
Good solid battle taking place there.

Trying to evaluate a QB in the preseason when they are playing with a complete band of misfits is nigh on impossible.

Only way to get a decent sample is when they play with solid players and that is basically only happening in practice nowadays.

Grier has the physical gifts but makes about 3 highly questionable throws a game.

We need Grier to keep getting live reps, game time live action reps.
We already know what we have in Rush, top 6 BU QB in this league, not bad.

With the new rule. You keep a 3rd qb in case you lose 2.
Ok, so if Grier wouldn't count against the 53 it's all good.

This makes a ton of sense. The Cowboys know what they have in Rush. I wouldn't be surprised to see Grier get the entire game tomorrow night.

Good this Oline needs all the help.

Sick and tired of watching Cooper Rush sit back there and be the smartest 8 year Player NEVER to earn a starting job. Great mind zeros tools to deliver.

Hopefully Will Grier realizes off script plays are part of Football...
