Cooper rush has a weak arm I think he got lucky when he went 4 and 1 last year, everything just went the cowboys way in those wins. And he's a statue to sack in the pocket.
I agree. Rush is a poor mans Nick Foles.

Agree, I think he has a slim-to-none chance of supplanting Rush.
True, but there's usually at least one surprise every year. I don't think it's going to be Cooper Rush though. The guy earned his keep last year. And the Cowboys ought to know that.

Rush's arm looks a little better this year, based on what I was able to glean from camp. Word on the street is he worked on his arm strength which could potentially help his game.

I still think he has more potential than some insist. But that's just me. I was wrong about him even being capable. Then, after I saw his consistency, poise, and ability to drive the bus, I became a believer.

Grier looked awful last week. It's really disappointing that the team cannot find a better QB3 to develop. The Cowboys don't allocate the resources to that spot, and it really shows. There is not a single team in the league that would claim him if he was exposed.

they didn't re up Cooper rush's contract IF to have will Grier take the backup job....

you do realize they just gave him a two year contract I believe I know it's not a giant contract but it's not one you would throw away so I think that you're off base I mean it'd be nice if will Greer shows a little more I would like to see Cooper rush for the entire first half a real Greer for the entire second-half,, now game three let him play the whole game.. But I think Cooper rush needs a little work and I don't think they're going to not play him..

By the way you guys are weird first do you think Cooper rush is good enough to take Prescott 's job at times and now you think that Greir might be better than Cooper rush after Cooper rushed just got a new deal.. The bipolar opinions in here are crazy..

Lastly I think both of them need to work because I saw Cooper rush throw as many off target passes as Greir and they don't get much in season work so I think that they both need 1/2 this game and like I said I think will Greer should get the entire game in the last game...
You see that insane logic too? So basically bum Grier is better than Dak lol

Yes, Grier will see plenty of action in the two remaining ps games. Seems he’s improved some this TC. But let’s be honest. This is not intended to be a knock on Grier- but- Hopefully we won’t see him past the last ps game.

He’s probably the third QB and headed to the practice squad again. He could also be picked up by another team.

Grier proved last week why he's the QB3. Play the crap out of him in the next two games. The experience will do him a world of good.

I want grier to succeed as cowboys 2nd qb , because not only am I a diehard cowboys fan since 1973 ,but I am also a huge West Virginia Mountaineer fan . I thought Will Grier looked good last week ,with the 2 td's . Interceptions happen when you are playing agressively from the qb position . Lets see how he looks this week.I hope he plays well .

Seems like the coaches see he has more physical gifts than Rush and want him to take that job. Last year they were saying his camp was going well before he got nicked up and missed time.

Going to be hard to overcome 4-1 from Rush but with the bottom third offensive numbers he put up, I see why you’d want to upgrade.

Yeah, Grier......and also Stephens, Hendershot..; Rico Suave and Davis. Tolbert and Brooks. Decisions will need to be made.

Cooper is the backup, who are we kidding?

he has better arm, and more athletic. problem is his field sense, pocket sense and reading defenses. yes, coaches want him to take the job, but he really has to prove he can.

The decision is to put him on the 53 or not. They know Dak and Cooper are keepers. So this makes a lot of sense. Cooper may get the first quarter and Will the rest of the game. I don't think anyone would be surprised at that.
Grier is not going on the 53 roster .. .that's not what they are playing him

Will Grier isn’t taking the job based on what he does in preseason. That’s not going to overcome what Rush did last season. The Cowboys are 5-1 with him since 2021. The only way Grier gets an opportunity during the regular season is if we lose Dak for significant time and Rush doesn’t play well.

I'm just curious, does Grier get to play with the starting offensive line? How many QBs look good with all backups on the offensive line?

Our 3rd string QB was 22-31 199 yards 2 tds I int and armchair GMs
claim he "sucked", or some version of that. At one point in the game,
he completed 13 of 14 passes.
Not saying he even sniffs a chance to unseat Cooper Rush but as
3rd stringers go, I'd happily take him.
There was a time when he was in the discussion of winning the
Heisman Trophy.

Good I hope Will Grier wins the backup qb position with the cowboys, he has more upside and he is much more mobile
He's a third stringer who at best would have half a career even if developed right now. The Cowboys are wasting their time and a roster spot on Grier.

You don't do this if you're happy with your starter.
