Explain to me why we would want the Eagles to win?

you suggested earlier that we have a better chance making the playoffs if the Giants lose to Philly, mainly because you do not see us defeating the eagles in week 17. How do you see us qualifying for the playoffs under these circumstances?
it all depends on if we win against San Diego. if we win I think we have a shot with some help. If we lose they will quit just like last year.

well as long as the Giants win on Sunday, what we do vs SD is minuscule. All we would have to do is defeat, NO or Was AND Philly. I personally believe the Giants will win on Sunday, whether it is better for Dallas or not and Dallas will defeat SD. Therefore, leaving a likely winner take all situation in week 17 vs the eagles.

I don't see us beating Philly again. imo we need help. the Giants are the closest to being ko'd from playoff contention. i'll be shocked if Philly doesn't make it.

if we cannot beat Philly in our house on the final game of the season then we aren't going to do **** in the playoffs.

If we can't even beat the Eagles at home in the season finale, then we don't deserve to go to the playoffs.

We're tied with the Eagles record-wise...

But realistically, we could be a game BEHIND the Eagles entering Week 17... and still be in the same situation as we would be if we were a game AHEAD of the Eagles entering Week 17.

Why? Because the Eagles will likely hold tiebreaker over us if we lose to them in Week 17. They're 3-1 in the division, we're 2-2.

That is why I'm rooting for Philly to win Sunday night. That, coupled with a Dallas win over San Diego, would give us some serious wiggle room, giving us a 1.5 game edge over the Giants (taking tiebreaker into account) with just 3 games to go.

Man, the more I analyze these scenarios, the harder it's hitting home that we really let a terrific opportunity slip from our grasp in the Meadowlands. :(

Exactly this.

You, I and everyone else feels that way now. Tell it to me in week 17 after we lose the the eagles and lose out to the Giants at 10-6 on a tie-breaker.

My best case realistic "scenario" has us 10-5 going into the Eagles game with the Giants already eliminated from the playoffs.

We'll have at least the 6th seed locked up and would be playing the Eagles for the division. I like our chances to win that game a lot better without a playoff berth on the line. We can go in loose and just play hard.

NYG have 3 tuff games,Eagles have 3,and we have 3.Eagles are 8-4.Giants are 7-5.We must root for NYG? Makes sense.

We don't want the eagles to win. It's just that we want the giants to lose.;)

But seriously, the giants losing improves our odds of making the play-offs. It's also the only realistic way we can have a spot clinched before we play the eagles.

lol, you might as well pack it in now..what are your goals for the season? Make the playoffs? Maybe win 1 playoff game? You cannot possibly think much higher of this group than that, at least not with that mentality.

if we're gonna get inn the playoffs there's a good chance it would be as a wildcard. 2 of the teams we're competing with for those already have us beat on tiebreakers. We don't get inn if we end the season with the same record as the Giants so it's better if they lose, at least with Philly it's in our own hands still

It's not as much rooting for the Eagles as it is rooting for the Giants to lose.
I can't. I live near the area and their fans. The Eagles have given too much heartache. Plus, that final game of the season will probably be another " play in " game.

No NO NO on all accounts.

Giants must lose. They have tie breakers over us. Either we win the division or we fight for a playoff spot. And if you ask me it's the Giants and packers that will be there at the end of the day. We need them to lsoe as many games as possible. End of story.

If the Giants win, all we have to do is beat the Commanders and Eagles. That's it.

If the Eagles win, we'll need to go at least 3-1 or get help from someone else.

You decide which one you'd rather face.

Well either the Giants or the Eagles are going to lose Sunday. I can't really lose in this scenario. But I'd prefer the Eagles lose since they are tied with us. That makes the last two games of the year must wins unless we suddenly get some more Eagle/Giants losses to follow.

Or the Eagles win and the Giants fall further behind us. And if we keep winning we can play the final game for teh division crown and worst case we get in on a Wildcard. We will lose both tie breakers to the Giants and Packers. I would rather let the eagles win it all and Us win any 2 games. it doesnt matter what games that is.

What happens if they tie?:lmao2:

If the Giants lose to the Eagles, then BOTH of these things would have to happen for us to get knocked out of the picture:

The Giants win their last 3 AND
We lose 3 out of 4 (or all 4)

That's the only realistic way we DON'T make the playoffs with a Giants loss.

Right? :)
