I have to admit that if I didn't know about this site and only knew what I knew about Crawford from watching games, I'd probably see Crawford as a good mid-range 3T at this point (certainly not a star).

I certainly think he's good, and can get better, but I don't know if I'd want to offer him a big contract right now. He's had 1 good season so far, and maybe it would behoove us to wait until mid-season or later to offer him an extension.

Title pretty much says it all. He played well last year, his 2nd year in the league after being injured his entire rookie season. (Correct?)

Pretty much every report at camp has him looking like our best D-lineman so far. Maybe the FO can get him to commit a few years on the cheaper end of the good DT market? IMO he is going to get very expensive if he is healthy all year.

Ole Jack Crawford has looked decent, but I think I would hold off on giving him a new contract until we see if he makes the team.

I would absolutely try to sign him now. IMO he will have a Hatcher double digit sack type year. His price will only go up. Do it now before it gets really expensive. I wouldn't pay more than 7mil per year so let's get it done now.

You have to look deeper than the stat sheet sometimes. He was dominant at times last year and he was the only good DL we had. He's young and plays a prominent position on our defense. All signs point to extension.

Idk what you're watching. Idk how our best DL could possibly be "hardly noticeable". Im not one to buy the hype unless ive seen something myself. I've learned to trust my instincts on these players. Crawford can be a dominant player in this scheme. Especially with good players around him now.

The wuestion is what's a reasonable deal
No way I'd pay him like a star till he becomes a star. 7 mil a year is crazy
I'm all for signing him but the whole point of signing a guy early is to sign him cheap
You can build in some incentives if he does become a star but he's not there yet
Really nice prospect who could be ready to come into his own, and that's what you pay for

Martin said that Crawford is the most difficult of the Cowboys DL to block. He implied that Hardy was the 2nd most difficult. He also implied that Crawford was as difficult to block as anybody that he faced last year.

Best DT in camp. DLawrence has been amazing at DE.

Lawrence looks like a completely different player. Just hope these guys are all healthy once Hardy returns from suspension because the QB sacks/pressures will surely follow.
