Obviously the point is to lock them up before other teams can drive up the price and potentially take them from us. I think we absolutely should sign them ASAP.

Maybe I'm delirious, but we did a lot for Gregory to keep him hear. If the Cowboys chose to move on I don't know if he would be in the NFL right now.

Basically it's worth a try. I'd begin to negotiate and test the water. If we can't come to terms then he is forced to prove it through out the season. The security should merit some type of discount, although to what extent is beyond me. I'd love to believe he would be more willing to take a discount based on loyalty, but his agent won't buy into that.
