And it is pissing me off. This is what I said to those...morons.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

1990 Rookie of the Year
3 time Superbowl Champion (XXVII, XXVIII, XXX)
Superbowl XXVIII MVP
NFL MVP 1993
8 time Pro-Bowl Selection (1990-1995, 1998-99)
NFL Season-Leading Rusher 1991-1993, 1995
1,000 yard seasons 1991-2001 (NFL Record)
All-Time NFL Rushing Yards Leader (17,162)
All-Time NFL Rushing Touchdown Leader (153)
Most 100 yard games (78 - new record 10/24/04)
Emmitt breaks the 18,000 yard barrier (11/14/04)

I'm proud that some of you hate Emmitt. It shows that he did his job well. He owned you and your team for years...and you still haven't recovered from it. Or so it seems.

I'm sure that, while he was running all over your ridiculous excuse for a team, you all were wishing you had a running back with half the talent he had. With half the heart and desire to help his team win. Can't blame you really. Look what you had during those years. Look what you have now.

The mere fact that your homerish hatred extends this deep and will probably last forever is a testament to how great he really was.

And those who say that the line he had was the sole reason he was so successful never really watched the man play. So you really have no merit in anything you say in regards to him as a human being...or anything else for that matter.

I'm in no way saying Emmitt was the greatest. He wasn't. But he does deserve to mentioned in the same sentence as Barry Sanders and Jim Brown.

ha ha. Like the Skins can criticize anyone. Fugget them.

Don't even bother with those homer losers on Extreme Skins. They couldn't take alittle teasing and banned me.

You need to mention how many thousands of yards he gained against them alone. And what was his won-loss record against them?

You're angry, eh? Well then my advice would be while you're on Extremeskins to scroll down the archives for the many posts made after the last Dallas-Wash game. Should cheer ya right up!

That article seems to always shut Emmitt Haters up....

Great site. I get so angry when people pull out that lame "He had an awesome line." bs.

The man made his yards after he got through the hole. He was awesome. He was nothing but heart and toughness...and when he doesn't get the respect he deserves I get peeved.

Cool. Just point them to that article, and im sure they will try and nickpick it to death, but I did the research one day when an eagles fan on a madden football site I frequent kept bashing Emmitt and the bastid forced me to do some research and shut his ace up. See it wasn't an article at first, I went and pulled how many Pro Bowlers some of the great backs had on the offensive line.

First excuse:Well the Cowboys had so many weapons on offense, they couldnt just key on Emmitt. I showed them all the offensive weapons other great backs had and it was on to the second excuse.

Second excuse:Well the Cowboys had such a great defense, Emmitt was able to have more opportunities to run the ball. Once I showed them some of the great players other great backs had, they just ****.

That is all, thanks....

Indeed it was. And think, we may have a running back that could do that again, now. Here's to hoping. :beer2:

What's funny is they want us to believe that Art Monk should be in the HOF. What's hilarious is that they believe he should get in before Irvin.

Then I show them the stats, show them against their peers and it's no comparison. Irvin was a better receiver against guys from his era AND Monk's era than Monk ever was.

What's almost shamefully bad is that Gary Clark put up better numbers than Monk while on the same team. Yet, they still only talk about Monk and Monk first.

They're too stupid to realize he's not even the best receiver on their team during that timeframe.

Rich....................
There's too many stats that support Emmitt, especially how bad the Cowboys were without him in the games he didn't play due to injury and the 2 games he missed due to a contract dispute.

It was the 92 season...I think, it was the infamous game where Emmitt had to be taken out for dehydration.

Actually, I believe that was the 91 season. And I'm pretty sure the Commanders won that game. :)

The skin fans over at Extremeskins are, simply put, beneath us. The only redeemable part of that whole phukkin' website is the bang cartoon. The fact that you even responded to them probably made you loose brain cells for your effort.

Consider the source and then determine that it shouldn't be dignified with a response.

First off, I have seen a lot of Skins fans give Emmitt his props. Many openly expressed his dominanace over the Skins. A lot of them give him respect as a player and a man.

Then there are the haters. You are not going to convince them of anything. They will not admit that any Dallas player was good. I think there logic is.

1. Anyone would look good behind that line. (funny that no other Dallas RBs did look good behind that line)

2.The line wasn't that good, but they were allowed to hold and put their hands to the face of the DL.

3. Teams focused on Irvin, but he wasnt that good. He was just allowed to cheat and push off.

4. Teams tried to shut down Troy, but he was just an average QB who was surrounded by great talent... unless you want to argue about other individual talented players... then they were not talented... it was just that no one was trying to stop them... or that the refs let them get away with (insert a way to cheat here).

The funny thing is, Emmitt's vision allowed the job of the OL to be sooo much easier. On a lot of run plays, there was no specific hole to run to. The OL was just supposed to push their guy out of the way, they could push him left, right, or backwards... which ever way was easiest. It gave them a choice that no other OL in the NFL had. In most systems you have to move a DL in a specific direction and that was that. Since Emmitt was able to see holes and change direction after the handoff, you didn't have to have a specific hole called before every play. You see it on TV and say "Look at the hole they created!" But, no one knew where the hole was going to be before the play. Emmitt was just able to find it, while always moving forward, when others would not have been able to do so.

This is why no other RB looked good behind that OL when Emmitt was out. It is also why the OL looked so average when Emmitt was on the sidelines.

First off who cares if they are. Second The records speak for themselves, his charecter speaks for itself so it's never worth it to argue that point with Commander fans who have never had a back close to him

He's right.. It was the 91 season.. Emmitt ran for like 100 yds. and had about 2td's in the first quarter.. Texas stadium was on fire that night... we jumped all over the skins like 21-6 but they came back and won.. I believe 33-31 on Monday night football.. but we got our revenge later in the season.. Skins were 11-0 and we beat them..(game I attended @ RFK).. that game was beautiful because it was like a break out game in a break out year for Irvin... this was the first time I witnessed any receiver absolutely abuse Darrell Green.. The Aikman to Irvin skinny post/slant worked all day.. and Green could do nothing about it.. Even when Aikman got injured.. Steve Buerline came in and did the same thing with Irvin :skins:

#1- You all are just as big of homers as any other nfl team fan so don't try and put yourself ABOVE anyone else.

#2- Rather than stereotype ALL of extremeskins with 1 thread maybe you should grow up. That fact that on extremeskins people don't post threads about the crap said here shows something. It seems like everyday there is a " hey look at what they're saying." thread......

#3- Irvin is better than monk and deserves to go first. Clark may have had better #s at times but he wasn't the better of the two.

#4- If you respond like this is a "go away skins troll" manner then you don't visit this site enough. I don't troll here, and I will never defend ignorance. I don't mod extreme so I don't care what some of the kids say. If they think emmitt sucked then thats their opinion. If I recall that thread's original thought was to talk about emmitt comiong to washington or something.

#5 - as for you GTaylor , Maybe we should check the cwbzn after a loss huh....

Roughneck: "Actually, we're worse. We beat the Commanders because the refs decided to give us an extra little push. We beat the Browns because their DBs couldn't hold on to balls thrown right at them and nothing but green standing in front of them. "

This was posted by Wolverine in another thread:

Parcells: "I'm going with Vinny because he gives the team the best chance to win."

"Now, the question is .. WHICH team was Parcells talking about?"

Neither of us are innocent.......Both teams sucked so who cares......Lets enjoy the offseason without ignorance.
