And it is pissing me off. This is what I said to those...morons.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
1990 Rookie of the Year
3 time Superbowl Champion (XXVII, XXVIII, XXX)
Superbowl XXVIII MVP
NFL MVP 1993
8 time Pro-Bowl Selection (1990-1995, 1998-99)
NFL Season-Leading Rusher 1991-1993, 1995
1,000 yard seasons 1991-2001 (NFL Record)
All-Time NFL Rushing Yards Leader (17,162)
All-Time NFL Rushing Touchdown Leader (153)
Most 100 yard games (78 - new record 10/24/04)
Emmitt breaks the 18,000 yard barrier (11/14/04)
I'm proud that some of you hate Emmitt. It shows that he did his job well. He owned you and your team for years...and you still haven't recovered from it. Or so it seems.
I'm sure that, while he was running all over your ridiculous excuse for a team, you all were wishing you had a running back with half the talent he had. With half the heart and desire to help his team win. Can't blame you really. Look what you had during those years. Look what you have now.
The mere fact that your homerish hatred extends this deep and will probably last forever is a testament to how great he really was.
And those who say that the line he had was the sole reason he was so successful never really watched the man play. So you really have no merit in anything you say in regards to him as a human being...or anything else for that matter.
I'm in no way saying Emmitt was the greatest. He wasn't. But he does deserve to mentioned in the same sentence as Barry Sanders and Jim Brown.
