Eye candy for Nick Hayden fans

Hayden is an ok player for that spot. His motor runs hot all the time and he loves to play the game. He isn't really very physically talented but he gives the team everything he has.

I'm not going to bust on a guy like that.

If they replace him, I'm fine with that... but as long as he can stop the run, he isn't hurting the team on first and second downs.

It seems like the consensus on Hayden is pretty universal, Ok not great. 100% effort all the time, which is why Rod seems to love him. Best nickname on team by far.
Is and should be upgradeable, which is why it's so annoying year after year when we don't. My personal view is that the FO has deemed other position upgrades more important, but that the roster is becoming soooo much better that we finally may see a pick 1-3 rounds in this next draft.
: ) If it does not happen again, I promise to stop harping on about a 1-tech. But it just makes too much sense ... so go hayden, this is your last shot with the Cowboys, have a great year and move on next. (Rant off).

The Jeff Heath T-Shirt is also available now....

Hayden's got a lifetime pass for surviving the atrocious 2013 season when the team went through some 20 defensive linemen and he never missed one down. Dude is tougher than a 2 dollar steak

This should be his t-shirt

Nick Hayden is much maligned on this forum, but he seriously has the best beard on the team. Sorry Fred.

Best College Shirt is from Furman University:

They actually have a t-shirt that says "** All The Time" :p

True story, Furman University used to be a Christian college and their mascot was the Christian Knight before they changed it to the Paladin...the Furman University Christian Knights which means their school acronym was....

Furman University Christian Knights

Seriously?

I'd totally rock that shirt.

Ditto. Hayden gets a bad wrap in here, but all he's done is stay healthy and goes to work. He's not a stud, but he gives his all and Rod respects that. I do too.

He's kinda like the Bill Bates of the D-line without the fanfare. Everyone just assumes he's getting cut at some point, or someone is going to beat him out.

Keep rollin Golden Cock!

Yep. He's Kyle Kosier-like.

You know our fans: love the all pros. Disparage the hard working overachievers where you can. I've got a soft spot for players who get better and hang on through nothing but hard work.

Although I do worry HOW Nick got his nickname. Was Rod purposely hanging around the showers one day after practice, or is this just something that had Rod reminiscing of jokes from his military past?

Hayden owes Marinelli everything for that nickname.....though it's a lot to live up to.

The 1tech often lines up at an angle (i.e in a "cocked" position) and Hayden had "Golden" locks of hair.

Comparing Kyle Kosier to Nick Hayden is laughable. Kosier was actually a quality football player. The evidence of that was as clear as day whenever he missed games. Nick Hayden is just guy who is filling space on the roster. A net negative most of the time he stays on the field. His only skill is his ability to stay healthy. That's fine, but he can't play football otherwise.

It seems to be kind of a strange relationship on the surface. I'm sure Nick is a positive influence on the DL from a chemistry basis, especially with the newness of this season's line, but he really is not much of a factor on the field. Hopefully, he gets less playing time as the season progresses and the younger guys develop. I really hope that we haven't overlooked any potential FA tackles because we feel that we have an actual starter in Nick, the guy really isn't anything more than a reliable special-teams quality player.
