Ezekiel Ansah

A "couple million" no, not even close Id CONSIDER downgrading to save 50-60 million in guaranteed money..
A few million. You know you're getting the DL version of Lee and you're still going to pay him north of 10 million a year.

If I signed Ansah it would be because I could NOT work a deal with Dlaw. I would only sign him to a 2-3 year deal and the guaranteed money I saved would be a lot more than a "few million."

Im not advocating we go this route necessarily. I am squarely on the fence. I love Dlaw as a player but realize we have a ton of guys to sign....

I agree. I honestly loved Ansah's upside coming out of BYU and wanted him with a star on his helmet. I am weary of the entire entire Tank situation but know if push comes to shove there's other options. Still on the fence on Ziggy because of his injury history.

Perhaps but wouldn't this mean we trying to replace DLaw by committee? What about next season coz both players will likely be free agents again. It's a tough call but this is why if you spend 3-4 developing a rookie into an ELITE player, you're probably better off getting him signed to a long-term deal.
D-Law is 26. He has everything going for him. But he and his agents are foolish to think he can put off shoulder surgery and get paid like The Mack.

My advice would have been to have the surgery immediately after the season get with the Cowboys and his doctors, be in rehab, sign the franchise tag, demand a trade, and hold out for a long term deal until the last report date for season accural for either the Cowboys or another team to get a long term deal.

If the Cowboys are stupid enough not to do a long term deal for a 26 year old DE, then the Cowboys are going to continue their purgatory in mediocrity If the Cowboys are stupid enough to trade him to another team after signing the franchise tag, the Cowboys will continue the purgatory in mediocirty. D Law will go on to be successful as every other player that has left the Cowboys in the Jerry Jones minus Jimmy Johnson era (Jimmy Smith, Ron Stone, Marcus Spears, Chris Canty, Brock Marion, Dewayne Harris, Terrence Newman, Demarcus Ware, Wade Phillips, etc.)

D-Law is a 26 year old DE that can sack and whack. He is going to get a long term deal here or somewhere. But holding off from surgery and not signing the Tag delays everything to his detriment. That's my opinion.

He signed with the Chiefs apparently so the talk can end now :)
I think that the Dallas FO should seriously consider Ansah if it seems Demarcus is a candidate for departure. He's just the type that appeals to us. ;)

It wasn't Ansah who signed with the Chiefs Flop, it was Ogbah. Got my sah's and bah's confoosed :muttley:

The writing would be "on the wall" for all to see, including D-Law. We'd have quite a rotation if we had three DEs capable of being productive and a heck of a rotation at the very least. If DL decided to sit out the year, we'd still be covered with a capable pass rush. Not sure if Dallas would see fit to spend what it might take to sign Ansah but I doubt it'd hurt to check it out.
NE just won the super bowl w/o a war daddy.

Forget Ansah.

Sign Tank and go all in to get Gerald McCoy.

DLaw-McCoy-Woods-Quinn
Crawford-Collins-Covington-Gregory

That d-line would be nasty.

I like the thought process but I don't think you can afford to pay Tank what he's looking for, pay McCoy, and then continue to pay Crawford. I think something's gotta give.

There was a poll somewhere that said Ansah+Quinn $18/mill year or DLaw at $20/mill. I chose two solid guys for $18. I love DLaw but his asking price (22.5mill) is going to hurt the overall team. It's a tough decision.

Ansah on a 1 year team friendly deal like Quinns, YES PLEASE. Otherwise, pass. DLAW better decide if he wants to be here or not.
