I don't want an RB in the first unless it's from 20-32, and there is no justifiable reason we'll be given to trade that far back. Pick up an RB in the second or third.

Does it really matter if he is a star?

I understand the concept but so many draft picks bust and now you want to predict the window he should be drafted in.

If you like the player, take him at your turn. I would rather overdraft then try and get cute and miss out.

Plain and simple, he's a day one bellcow RB that will break off big runs but also wear a defense out with tough runs. I think he will be a stud and if we don't get Goff with our pick then I'd like a trade down for Elliott.

Yes, it matters. Elliott isn't going to be projected in the top 10, we will have a top 8 pick for a fact. He MIGHT be taken in the top 20, so you think it's reasonable for us to trade back from the top 10 in hopes of grabbing him in the top 20 when there is top prospect corner, safeties, and LBs in the top 10?

If you are suggesting we take him in the top 10, hell no.

There is no player in the first round that will be more of an immediate impact player than Elliott.
He is plug and play on day 1 and will be a major contender of offensive rookie of the year.

Man, I don't know. Three first rounders on the offensive line, a first round WR and a first round RB? That may be too much invested on the offensive side of the ball.

who cares where we get him. Get him with our first and move on. We're getting to fancy with this mid round pick stuff. Why, so we can move down and have someone else reach and take him ahead of us like with Gurley this year? Just get him. We need a rb badly. If we reach so what

I have only watched 3 actual games of his (2015 Michigan, 2015 Virginia Tech, 2014 Wisconsin), so I don't have a large sample size to pull from using my own experience.

The few scouting reports said that they would like to see him work on his pass catching and pass protecting. From what I watched, those were the only things I felt weren't impressive.

I guess I should've worded it differently. It's not that he's awful. It's more like, if he did those things as well as he runs the ball, he'd be one of the more impressive and complete backs in the draft in a while.

For all I know, the announcers may have been wrong about him. Shrug.

He is the real deal and I would love for him to be the next great Cowboy RB.

He already has 4 TDs today, short power runs and long homeruns up the middle.

He can do it all and if we don't go for Goff I would love Easy E.

Yeap Zeke the Freak

Gurley was drafted with the 10th pick. We had no real chance of getting him.

Yeah the Rams traded up to get their guy, and the reason I think we should make the move for Zeke is cause of what Gurley has done this year and that's coming off a torn ACL. I think people need to see what the Rams do with Tre Mason though he could be traded.

If we pick 4th overall, I don't want Elliott. If we trade down to 10-15 and pick up a 2nd and 3rd, I'm all for it. Picking him at 4 when you could pick him in the early teens AND get more draft picks would be a huge waste in value.

Who knows though. It's all speculation at this point. The Cowboys might have him ranked as a top 5 player on their board and take him at 4. They know more than we do.

Value is secondary to getting the right player.

If no one wants to trade up then maybe try to move up with the 2nd and 3rd round picks. We will have 4 comp picks we can't trade so we can get depth later.

But I would hate to trade back with STL to 18 and see him drafted 15th.

He's the one player in this draft I want most for the 2016 Cowboys. If they can trade back slightly, pick up a 2nd and another pick, then take him at say 10 or 11...I would be super happy. Then use that 2nd plus some ammo to trade back into the 1st for Wentz. So the impact player for 2016 is there and the QB of the future is as well. Win win...

Then improve the DT position, WR position and get some CB help.

Yeah. Ultimately if you're targeting a certain player and feel strongly that the team needs him, you take him. It depends on where you have him ranked on your board, where you think other teams have him ranked, and how much you feel you need him.

It will be difficult because a few higher rated players will be OL. Do they take another OL that is rated slightly higher for a bigger need at a different position that is rated a a little lower.
