Quinn will use more three-linebacker sets than Nolan did. Getting Neal fills the need for that third linebacker. So cutting Jaylon would mean we'd still need to pick up a third starting linebacker since there's no one currently on the roster that I'd trust in that role.
Considering that we couldn't use the money we'd get for designating him as a June 1 cut until that time, I guess we could pick up a third LB then, but otherwise, we'd probably be relying on the draft to find one ... and that's not a reliable source of replacement unless we want to spend another early pick on the position. (And face it, there are some questions about LVE, and he was a first-round pick.)
