FEATURED FA agent thread

Diggs in the 2nd rd was a plug and play starter. Think with another deep class, you can find another one. Signing a vet is all about price, think it will be too expensive to sign a quality option.
Was he though? It looked like it worked out, but we though that about Awuzie too.

I get it that we can't sign a vet. I just like going into a draft with all options open.

I expect a FS starter signed next week. Am hopeful they sign a starting NT and add more depth at linebacker. Think they are done at corner, everything is set up to draft a plug and play starter.
Does Quinn use a true NT in his scheme? I like a guy like Nixon or Ownuzirike (draft) who are more versatile DTs.

We still need what, 2/3 starters..........DT, LBer and CB

NFL Top 25 remaining free agents: Mitchell Schwartz tops the list
Posted by Charean Williams on March 20, 2021, 9:22 PM EDT

Free agency only officially began Wednesday, but most of the top free agents already know where they are playing next season. The top 37 players on PFT’s top 100 were franchised and/or have signed a new deal. Only 26 of the top 100
remain without a contract for 2021, and many of those are coming off injuries.

Here are the top 25 players left on our list of 100 free agents for 2021:

1. Chiefs offensive tackle Mitchell Schwartz

2. Seahawks edge Carlos Dunlap

3. Broncos cornerback A.J. Bouye

4. Titans edge Jadeveon Clowney

5. Chiefs offensive tackle Eric Fisher

6. Steelers offensive tackle Alejandro Villanueva

7. Colts receiver T.Y. Hilton
4 including FS until they sign someone

Do people think Fisher is done after that injury? I'm surprised he's still out there.

Doctors cant look at the player so its hard for them to even know where he is and with an injury like that they are going to want some assurance that he can actually play again.

There is a few DT's that can really help us: DaQuan Jones, Sheldon, Guy, Rankins. Look out for Dennard as a cheap vet corner, played in Atlanta last yr. Still think they could be in the market for another linebacker as well.
Jones should definitely have been listed amoungst the top 25. Solid 3 down 1T

I would have preferred a veteran signing. It is hard to plug and play a cornerback. I am not sold on the top three corners as value at the 10th pick.

I also think the class is deep enough you could get a Diggs-type in round 2.

Signing a vet takes so much of the pressure off to force the pick at 10.

And if things roll out like I believe they will, we will be reaching in terms of talent to take the corner.

We signed Lewis. Diggs, Brown, Lewis. Nickel starting CBs.

3 signings I want

NT: Jones or Rankins or Sheldon
FS: Hooker or Kazee
LB: KJ Wright

At first I would take Hooker over him but after watching tape and looking at both players stats, Kazee is the better player. Ohio State Hooker was a Ed Reed clone. He is 24 years old so he might be able to get back to being a good safety.

Not long ago, Snack Harrison was the best run-stopping DT in the league but I honestly think they're done spending FA money on this position.

The good news is that at this point these are all probably 1 or 2 yr deals.

Just me, but I would not rule out them trading ( using 3rd or 4th round pick) for a potential starting DT or LBer we're not hearing about.

Jones should definitely have been listed amoungst the top 25. Solid 3 down 1T
Absolutely. I wouldn't discount a player like Lawrence Guy. He has been a starter in some strong defenses with New England and Baltimore. Also,. I didn't list Abry Jones from Jax who have crazy cap space, but he is another good fit for the 1T.

My thing is Kazee is visiting Detroit as well. I’m not sure he’d want to split starting duty

Yeah, but it’s Detroit!

I hear ya though. But any player confident in his abilities shouldn’t fear some competition.
