How many here would like to see us sign Casey Hampton and Darren Sharper as some veteran FA pickups?

Where would Hampton play? Ratliff isn't moving anywhere and New Orleans won't let Sharper go.

We should have found a way to draft Hampton.

Sharper should have been signed LAST off season.

Take Siavii's snaps and allow Rat to stay fresh and maybe rush off the DE spot a few times a game. Rat will still rush the middle in passing situations.

And is Sharper tied up in a contract after this year with New Orleans? No. So therefore he can be had.

I'd like Hampton as an upgrade over Siavii for sure.

It would also allow Wade to move Ratliff around the DL a bit to exploit mismatches.

Isn't Hampton still a full-time starter?

We'd likely have to give him full-time NT snaps and move Ratliff to DE if we make this move to justify the cost.

I'm not necessarily saying that is a bad thing as I think he is a great player and better than Spears.

I think a better solution would be to find a vet who wants a reduced role as a backup but is a premier run stuffer.

We need to lose some FA before we can pick up any with the new rules in place.

Since they lost last week they aren't as restricted.

I'm more worried about the OL... We are ok at safety and DT...

Ken Hamlin is the most overrated and overpaid player on our team.

Sure he 'lines up the defense' well - but in Wade's defense with the amount of pressure we put on the QB our safeties should have plenty of opportunities to make plays on the ball.

He consistently takes poor angles on ball carriers and hasn't made any plays since surprise, his contract year in 07.

Should i even ask why?
I know he gets a lot of picks...but I really don't think he's that good. He can make plays when that team has a lead and he can afford to take chances, but he's not a very good tackler and doesn't have great range. He's a lot like Asante Samuel, crafty but not overly athletic.

And when it comes down to it, he's going to be asking for a lot of money...which I don't think we should pay him.

We already have a safety like that. Might as well get one that makes picks.

And I'm not sure what your talking about. Sharper made some really nice tackles tonight.

Hamlin has much better range imo...he might have made some nice tackles but in the couple of games I've seen he misses. And I think his misses are more from bad angles and the like.

He's a good player I'm not saying anything opposite, I just don't think he's worth it.

I love to get Jahri Evans, New Orleans Saints (27) if we don't draft Ipata

plug him at Kozier spot

but they will never let him go
