Best part is that Zeke is a long standing Jerry guy. Sturm and others are reporting it is Jerry that made the decision that Zeke was good enough.

So the reason the Cowboys didn't sign Henry and Saquon is because we thought they were washed up?
True somewhat........many here wanted Henry signed but thought Barkley was injury waiting to happen. This reminds me back in the years when the Chargers gave up on Drew Brees over injury concerns. We all know how that turned out........Giants' GM should be fired. Barkley is now exactly what they thought they were getting ...........patient, patient (lol)

He’d be a star on a different team , put a star on this team and they wouldn’t be any better
Delusion. This is the mentality of Jerry and a lot of Cowboys fans. Talk themselves into thinking everyone there is a diamond in the rough. End of the day it's mostly overpriced coal.

I crush old wrinkly senile Jerruh day in and day out....but on this ONE thing I can't fault him too much.

Over the years, the teams that sign older RBs usually end up with buyer's remorse. They have such a short shelf life, that once they show just a glimpse of decline, they usually fall off a cliff pretty fast.

Who in the world that Saquon, at his age, would bounce back and be on pace for 2300 rush yds or so, and league MVP? Not me. He legitimately could break the NFL rushing record, and looks like a 21 year old out there.

Henry doesn't look quite as springy, but that was never his game anyway....he just alpha-dogs everyone like he used to.

This season is unique IMO, so I hope we don't over-correct and start chasing old RBs in the future Besides, with our line, it really isn't money well spent

JJK Dobbins was super cheap, and pretty much all upside. Being cheap is one thing, but being cheap and lazy is unacceptable from the FO/Joneses

Now they should be looking to sign PS players to acquire some young guys with possible upside, instead, they trade for a guy whose been in the league for 2 years based off his draft grade they had, not evaluating how he's played in the league. I'm not trashing Mingo just the laziness of this group.

Sure glad Jerry didn’t sign Saquon or Henry , FA running backs are washed up ! NOT you idiot they are leading every running back category! Another sign we don’t have a GM !
Yeah right we would have them and we'd be talking about how much we overpaid because they're not running well in our system

I think RB salaries have finally corrected to a market equilibrium. If you look at the free agent RBs signed this offseason - Saquon, Henry, Jacobs, Aaron Jones, D'Andre Swift, Tony Pollard - I don't think any of those teams regret signing those deals at all.

yeah that was dumb, I wanted Henry. However, the prevailing view last year in the NFL (and probably this board) was that overpaying for an RB was a mistake as any UDFA could come in and run for 1000.

I really feel badly for Zeke, he's Johnny Unitas, Willie Mays falling in the outfield, Gordie Howe at 52. He should have retired last year.
Zeke and Gordie Howe ,willie Mays, and Johnny Unitas do not belong in the same sentence.... not in the same state, same hemisphere.

Do we consider taking Jeanty? Easy to say no but if he's there...
He won't make it out of the top 5 IMO so they won't have a shot at him. That said, if they were picking top 5 with all the holes to plug and needing cheap young talent to offset the stupid contracts on this team, the smart move would be to trade it for a boatload of picks.
