Looking back at past memorable Vikings stadium moments

Dec. 29, 1975 — After posting an NFL-best 12-2 record in the regular season, the Vikings were upset 17-14 at home in the playoffs by Dallas on a last-second 50-yard touchdown pass from Roger Staubach to Drew Pearson. Pearson landed out of bounds, but the officials ruled he would've been in without midair contact by Nate Wright. The Vikings believed Pearson actually pushed off on Wright for leverage. The play became known as the first "Hail Mary" pass, because of Staubach's claim to have uttered a desperate prayer before the throw.

The playcalling for both of these teams is just atrocious.

In the video, watch for an orange evidently thrown by some frustrated Vikings fan.

In the still picture above, you can see the orange just below Paul Krause's left knee.

Given where they are on the field, that was a darn good throw. Wonder if that fan got called in for a tryout? lol

That's a lot better than the empty whiskey bottle that was thrown that knocked out the back judge, Armen Terzian, when it hit him in the head.

Wow. Lol

He kind of never got near out of bounds.

Must have been written by a millennial.
Say what u want about Millennials, but we know how to use the internet to fact check lol probably gen x;)

I didnt see any push off and there certainly was no out of bounds. Pearson adjusted to the ball, Wright didnt.

I'm Gen X and am constantly teaching Baby Boomers, Gen Xers and Millennials not only that they should fact check, but how. It's all about the person and not the generation. :D

The ones least likely to fact check online based on my experience? Baby Boomers for sure are the guilty party when speaking in generalities. I find this surprising, as they are the generation that questioned EVERYTHING.

Lol yea I know what u mean, they also don't get what I'll call "internet humor". In general they have the hardest time reading sarcasm lol

My grandmother doesn't understand the difference between her unlock code for her phone, and an email password... don't even get me started on DVR. I swear she thinks magic is real

There was a play that happened like that a few downs earlier. I think it was 4th down when Pearson was pushed out before he could come down. That was the rule at the time. But.....that wasn't the Hail Mary play.

If I recall from watching the game on dvd a couple of years back, didn't they tell the fans to stop throwing stuff at the officials over the pa system?. Who ever the fan was that threw that bottle at him had a mean arm lol
