First, a disclaimer: We already know who we are NOT. We're not a SuperBowl contender. This season will end, like they all have this century...with no trophy, or even a SB appearance. That much is etched in stone.

Bur this Falcins game will decide if we're one of the ham-and-egger teams that will eek through the season, providing some highs amidst the lows, possibly even contending for a Wild Card appearance (though any such play-off appearance would merely be a 1-and-done situation). This possible outcome was always the Floor in the past....but now, it's our ceiling

OR...have we broken downward through that floor barrier, and now are capable of a NEW low: being truly pathetic. Let's not kid ourselves....the Falcons aren't a great team. Not even quite good. If you don't show up, they can beat you...and that's how they've eeked out their wins this year.

If we get soundly beaten by the Falcons today, say goodbye to being a mediocre to slightly above average team (i.e. what we've grown accustomed to under Dak, and even before him). And say hello to truly being a weak team....not just a team CAPABLE of looking weak or unprepared, but truly a team that simply is bad... just another version of the Giants, Raiders, or Titans.

We shall see. And to think....we haven't even had to start adjusting our roster to account for Dak's enormous cap killing contract yet. We haven't even started letting players go we don't want to let go due to cap space....but that's coming

You aren't familiar enough with our cap projections. We started letting players walk last off season and replaced them with no one. We will be fine cap wise. The problem is this FO is too cheap and scared to be aggressive.

I thought last week was going to tell us who we are. If they couldn't beat a crippled 9ers team what makes anyone thing this week will be any different?
Next week it will be Philly in our house. And on and on. It's a week to week league and has been for years.

What the Cowboys did with player personnel has little or nothing to do with the CAP. Stop buying into that lie. The Cowboys have not had a CAP issue this decade. We are sitting on almost 21 million of CAP space right now and the team CAP will go up significantly again next season. We could have signed any RB we wanted in free agency and still had 14 million to work on DT and WR. Jerry didn’t want to spend that money. That’s why he waited with very little negotiating to sign Dak and Lamb at the last minute.

His stubborn attitude towards free agency is why we have the team we have. He couldn’t help the injuries, but we could have been much better.

Dallas isn't a good team. I don't think they are even a bottom of the barrel team that flukes into a playoff spot. Would I be happy if they made the playoffs, absolutely, I'm a fan. I'd also like Big Mike to shock the FO by getting this team to the playoffs and then refusing to stay in Dallas.

But, the reality is this team may not win more than 2 more games this season (Giants and Panthers) and both of those games are maybes. Jerry put a team together that just isn't talented enough. Especially in comparison to the '21, '22, and '23 teams.

What should our expectations be when we are missing our top 4 DEs and possible both starting outside CBs, with the DTs we put on the field? We should expect the worst and hope for the best.

The only good news this week is the Falcons have only 6 sacks and allow 132 yards per game on the ground. Maybe this week Dak and the mediocre offense can keep it close enough to steal the game at the end. But that requires Dak to play a lot better than he has playing all year.

This game will simply tell us if our season gets a stay of execution for another week.

Cowboys have to go on a 5 game winning streak if they are going to salvage this.

Get busy winning or get busy losing

I fail to see how anyone could look and not see who this team is. Injured, soft, weak minded, penalty prone, error prone, run by a narcissist and his son.
I would suggest this is playing out for a great draft pick, but......................................................Jerry.

I already know who and what we are and I knew it this offseason. Factor in the injuries? Shocked we aren’t winless.

That is literally what I was saying. Our cap situation is fine. The FO is too cheap and scared to be aggressive. I'm not sure why you thought i meant otherwise. Maybe because of the players we let go? Yes those were cap moves, and probably not bad moves. The problem was we didn't replace them, and we could have.

We will be sitting pretty cap wise going into next season. Will it be enough to entice a wily old veteran coach to bring his circus to town is the question. As far as today we can beat Hot Atlanta by cooling them off. How do we do that? Establish and commit to running the ball with traps, draws and pulls with motion. Commit to running the ball, what a concept. I guess that will depend on our line more than our backs. Screens to slow the rush and crossers to shorten the pass routes with the occasion deep ball to keep them honest. I am only a fan on a fan website so I don't REALLY have any answers but I certainly stayed at a Holiday Inn last night.

Dak is the 4th highest cap hit among QBs. He's also taking up 17% of the cap.

We're about as good as the Giants right now.

Well, you know how the Cowboys love to get the other team righted. Look for the Falcons to sack Dak a lot today, and our RB's to continue the measley 2 yards per carry.
