Was it bad playcalling, or was it that Weeden lost all confidence in the downfield game after he threw that pick? I've heard more than one person say that Weeden's reluctance to take any risks that eventually got him replaced.
Weeden said many times he was told to keep the risk taking underwraps. The day after Romo was injured he was quoted talking about how he liked to take risks. Then after that game, he said he was told otherwise.
I think we have seen that taking risks, in this scheme, is not good. Prescott has been able to navigate that. I hardly believe all of his plays this year were him doing exactly what he was told to do. I just think the staff trusts him more and he also trusts himself more.
Weeden is clearly a mental mess. Never trusted what he was told and more importantly was not smart enough intellectually to handle the pressure.
