Or how about we stop the arguing and realize all this is moot because it was against Kansas-****ing-City

no, see..thats one of the largest problem with fans....you wanna discount every positive and blow every negative way outta proportion.....yes it was a bad team...but they won and wins arent easy in the NFL.....so for you to say "it was against Kansas-****ing-City " means nothing.....it was a team on their schedule they had to beat on the road and they did.....

Every defense we play is horrible, remember? That's the only reason we're ranked No. 1 in yards per game.

we aren't number 1.

doesn't matter that we didn't play. we could just as easily drop even lower if we did play.

You're right, but we were before our bye.

And we're still No. 1 in yards per play. (But only because we've played five terrible defenses.)

We had no almost trouble throwing the ball against Carolina. Romo completed 13 of his first 17 passes and finished 22-for-33 for 255 yards. Witten caught every single pass thrown to him, and both wide receivers averaged more than 10 yards per target. There were a few key passes that were dropped or fell incomplete, but overall, the passing game worked quite well in that game.

Against Kansas City, it was mostly the same thing. Even if you take away Austin's YAC after breaking tackles on his two long TDs, Romo still threw for 260 yards.

In both games, the only real problems with the passing game came on a few goal-to-go plays.

I never said we were awful in either game, but we DID have some major issues, especially with regards to our downfield passing game, a strength for this team in past years. You also have to remember that Romo had to bring it down and run 5 times against Carolina because nobody was open and Carolina also had a coverage sack. Romo had to do the same 4 times against KC also. And let's not forget how pitiful our passing game was against Denver, though granted their defense is very good.

And yes, we have had a pretty big issue with receivers dropping balls the last 3 weeks or so. We just don't have many "sure" handed pass catchers outside of Witten.

Nice Adam, seems like Garrett is more interested in randomly throwing the ball to different WRs ,keep teams guessing, than exploiting a weakness though...

don't care what stats say. we suck at passing this year. i'm surprised when we catch a pass this year. last 2 years when the ball was in the air i was almost sure it would be a catch. not even completing 59% of our passes. pathetic.

The offense as a whole isnt "bad", but we are definately not as in rhythmn as we were the last two years at this time and the playcalling has been flat out awful at times.

We've played two bad defense, two average defenses (yes, the Giants defense is proving to be relvatively average against decent offenses) and one very good defense. We only played "great" on offense in one of those games

Like they say, stats don't lie, but the people who make up stats out of thin air do.

Still, Romo completed 15 of his first 19 passes against Denver.

I should probably take my own advice, but I wouldn't waste your time Adam. As you can tell by the guy's screenname, he doesn't have a grasp on even the most basic football concepts.

We haven't played "great" on offense in any game.

it's not how you start it's how you finish. in both the Carolina and Denver games Romo missed 4 throws inside the 5 yard line.

My mistake, 3 time against KC

Still, Romo completed 15 of his first 19 passes against Denver.

And outside of the late, borderline miracle pass play to Hurd he was 24 of 41 for 200 yards with 0 TDs and 1 INT. He was also sacked 5 times.

We played pretty damn good on offense against TB, at least in the second half. The execution was better too.

Then what does???
It's true, a great rushing offense isn't great just because they rush for the most yards. It's how good they look doing it. ha ha

So kneeling on the ball to run out the clock counts as "having to run because nobody was open"?

Yes, if you take away a 53-yard pass, Romo surpassed the Broncos' average passing yards allowed in their other games by only 51 yards.

We played pretty **** good on offense against TB, at least in the second half.

So, you think we played "great" offense despite a drive-killing sack in scoring position, failing to get in the end zone after a first-and-goal and passing for touchdowns only when the receivers break tackles for long gains or take advantage of blown coverage -- all against a terrible defense?

Interesting.

You contradict yourself. Tampa blew coverages and left people wide open. Doesn't that kinda go with whole Miles Austin arguement?

Yea but we did not successfully complete a 30 yard slant.
