We had no almost trouble throwing the ball against Carolina. Romo completed 13 of his first 17 passes and finished 22-for-33 for 255 yards. Witten caught every single pass thrown to him, and both wide receivers averaged more than 10 yards per target. There were a few key passes that were dropped or fell incomplete, but overall, the passing game worked quite well in that game.

Against Kansas City, it was mostly the same thing. Even if you take away Austin's YAC after breaking tackles on his two long TDs, Romo still threw for 260 yards.

In both games, the only real problems with the passing game came on a few goal-to-go plays.

I never said we were awful in either game, but we DID have some major issues, especially with regards to our downfield passing game, a strength for this team in past years. You also have to remember that Romo had to bring it down and run 5 times against Carolina because nobody was open and Carolina also had a coverage sack. Romo had to do the same 4 times against KC also. And let's not forget how pitiful our passing game was against Denver, though granted their defense is very good.

And yes, we have had a pretty big issue with receivers dropping balls the last 3 weeks or so. We just don't have many "sure" handed pass catchers outside of Witten.

don't care what stats say. we suck at passing this year. i'm surprised when we catch a pass this year. last 2 years when the ball was in the air i was almost sure it would be a catch. not even completing 59% of our passes. pathetic.

We've played two bad defense, two average defenses (yes, the Giants defense is proving to be relvatively average against decent offenses) and one very good defense. We only played "great" on offense in one of those games

it's not how you start it's how you finish. in both the Carolina and Denver games Romo missed 4 throws inside the 5 yard line.

Yes, if you take away a 53-yard pass, Romo surpassed the Broncos' average passing yards allowed in their other games by only 51 yards.

So, you think we played "great" offense despite a drive-killing sack in scoring position, failing to get in the end zone after a first-and-goal and passing for touchdowns only when the receivers break tackles for long gains or take advantage of blown coverage -- all against a terrible defense?
