The Fallout games are awesome, I played 1&2 on the PC(they're more of a top-down view point and click style), and then played 3 on the Xbox.

I've been meaning to go back and finish the very final part of FO3 before New Vegas comes out, I left my save right at the end in case they added anything else.

Have you played the expansions of FO3?

Operation Anchorage

The Pitt

Broken Steel

Point Lookout

Mothership Zeta

All incredible content for FO3 and the lvl cap was taken off early. Im almost lvl 22 atm.

Yeah that's what I meant but I forgot the names, I did all the add-ons and stopped before I finished Broken Steel just in case they added anything else or so I could still roam around, I think I just didn't want it to be over.

Interesting trivia that you probably already know- Liam Neeson is the voice of your Dad and Malcolm McDowell (Clockwork Orange) is the president.

I also recently finished Red Dead Redemption and it was great, better than any Western movie that's come out lately.

Fallen Earth is subscription based, but they have a free week trial. So you can try it out and see if it fits.

Ouch! Those are terrible problems with FF. What were they thinking?

Guild Wars 2 and The Secret War are the ones that seem to have something clever cooking. GW2 is a fantasy mmo, with some innovative approaches and has the advantage of initial purchase only, no subscription, but will still be supported well. The Secret War is Funcom's upcoming Lovecraftian horror/conspiracy set up, with guns and magic.

I have seen some reviews and trailers of FE. It looks to be a pretty fun game. I want to check out the character/class and talent/skills, but I def want to try it out.

Is it F2P or a subscription? Im not a big fan of the F2P because w/ most of these games the developers don't really get into fixing what the community is screaming about because they dont have the resources.

Runes of Magic was this way. We quit after about a year of play. Fun game but it was such a struggle in Seige Wars and PvP. There was also wayyyy to much hacking/cheating going on. :(

FYI: Do NOT waste your money w/ FF14 online. My GF and I got the collectors edition ($80x2) to get the game rolling and figure out that it's really just a pay to beta for SquareEnix.

I was furious w/ it and quit after 2 days of play.

Terrible game right now. If you are a FF player and rememeber FF11, this game is NOTHING like it. Gorgeous game however but the tools for the customer are STUPIDBROKEN.

Example:

I want to trade w/ UberBalls - It takes 6 clicks to do so

I want to invite my friend to our party but he's in another zone. You have to be standing near me to click on them to invite them. SIGH

I want to tab target the nearest mob near me but I actually tab on the mob 80 feet behind the one near me. HUH?

No auto-attack when being attacked

I don't know what SE had in mind for this game but folks are flat out leaving in droves and its only just recently launched for the regular purchase last week.

I have to five props to Funcom. My GF and I are loving AOC. She will be stoked to hear about this new Funcom MMO coming out.

Secret War? I have to check this out.

Funcom has always been a steller company when it comes to game support and listening to the community.

Excellent news.

Ive tried to get into fallout 3 but it kept crashing on the system configuration i had at the time. id get partially into the game and then all the saves would corrupt. was really frustrating. i wish i had a better experience with it. it was fun while it worked.

I was bored with FO 3 about 10 minutes in. Of course the only reason I bothered to rent it was because of the 3rd person mode, but the stupid thing didn't work. No matter what I did it stayed in first person. And I don't really care for aimless wandering in games either, and that's what I was doing at least during the time I spent on it (maybe an hour or 2).

Fable 2 was VERY boring to start, so I didn't bother with it beyond that. Fable 1 was just ok, but I was at least able to finish that one.

CZ Mods, can you create a filter that just replaces anything ChldsPlay writes with "I'm a Negative Nancy making a Negative Comment"?

I played Fallen Earth the first three months of release and it can be a lot of fun. Here are my experiences from that time period:

The world is wide open for you to explore. You can craft pretty much anything in the game and still have a viable combat character. I like the starter towns and how they guide you through the basics. PVP is available in certain zones from the start.

While Factions are a good idea they don't serve much purpose. For example a Vista can kill a Vista in the PVP areas. This made faction switching common to get more skill points.

The PVE was limited. Basically once I got to the level/skill caps of the time there wasn't much for me to do. So no major raids or dungeons to explore.

Things may have changed quite a bit but I know that my old clan/guild/corp isn't doing much in FE right now and is instead focusing on other games.

In my opinion it's worth checking our for a month to see if you like it.

Dallas, can you be more specific about how FF14 is completely different from FF11 because as a Final Fantasy lover, FF11 was terrible. I played it for a couple months and nothing really happens, just a serious of little missions. I haven't been interested in FF14 at all because I figured it'd be pretty similar, but if you're saying it's a lot different, that may interest me.

The Mass Effect series is far and away the best rpg I have ever played. Bioware is the leader in rpgs, imo.

I liked Fallout 3, but at the time didn't have the time available to invest in it required. I might pick it up again. I never really got into it though.

Def

Mass Effect 1 and 2 are on the all time list of RPG. Did you ever played Star Wars: KOTOR?

Great...great game

Recommend Mass Effect 2 over the original? (PC of course) I might look into getting Mass Effect. I was thinking about Fallout3, but looking at the videos, the graphics seem archaic compared to other games out. (BFBC2, etc)

Mass Effect 2 is coming out for the PS3 later this year. Absolute worth at 60 bucks new?

I liked Mass Effect 1 better myself. Mass Effect 1 feels like KOTOR with a little Gears of War mixed in, while Mass Effect 2 feels like Gears of War with a little of KOTOR mixed in. Mass Effect 1 has way more customization to it.

Both the Mass Effect games are definitely worth it. You can get ME2 on the XBOX or PC for around $25 bucks now, but it will still technically be a new PS3 game.

Speaking of Bioware games, did anybody play the Baldur's Gate Series on PC? I really think that was my favorite RPG of all time (the graphics are pretty dated now of course).

I played both along with Icewind Dale. However my favorite from the period is Planescape Torment.
