Baseball has something to say about that.
...unfortunately baseball would lose that argument.
From the ranks of minor ball all the way up to the NFL football eclipses baseball in the complexity of all aspects of the game.
There is a reason why the Wonderlic became a staple for the evaluation of players in the NFL. Those who's job is to field NFL teams found out that a certain amount of intelligence is needed to excel in the game with all that is happening strategically on the field.
For baseball all you really need is the hand eye coordination to hit the hanging curve ball and stay up with the fastball and you can play baseball until you are 45.
With the exception of kicker it's highly unlikely you will last in the NFL unless you can develop a certain amount of game intelligence - typically gained through years of film study and exposure to different schemes.
A good NFL player is a student of the game. I'm not sure if you can say that about good baseball players.
By the way, the item I stated in black is what I was told by Cito Gaston in meeting him at a sports banquet and talking to him about the secret to a baseball career. He was talking about the DH whom by the way makes considerably more than any kicker in the NFL.
