NEW ORLEANS -- A Saints fan is asking other fans to donate money to help sign Drew Brees.

Season ticket holder Tony LeMon put together the website where fans can contribute at http://www.fansstepup.com.

“It's a way to, if you will, narrow the gap between the Saints organization and Drew Brees by coming together and saying, look, you've been a fantastic ambassador of the City of New Orleans,” LeMon said.

LeMon said he wants to give Drew Brees “a gift.”

(you can't make this stuff up) :lmao:

I guess Saints fans aren't bright enough to grasp the concept of the salary cap...

Didn't believe I would ever witness Dallas Cowboys boycotters upstaged by anyone else.

I was wrong.

Some saints fans have lost brains cells over the years due to years of wearing paper bags on their heads in shame resulting in a lack of proper oxygen flow to the brain.

Drew Brees bailout fund? I thought that is why you buy tickets? :laugh2:

You mean decades :laugh2:

Some of the people who live here are dumb as a box of rocks. I can understand Saints' fans' anxiety over the situation, but it's not like the man is going to the poor house...he's a millionaire for crying out loud, and he stands to make many millions of $$ this year whether he's franchise-tagged or not. If these people have money to throw around, perhaps they could find some needy children or something (or I could meet them somewhere; I'll be happy to take the unwanted cash off their hands). It's embarrassing that they think this is how NFL players get paid.

Yeah why not donate money to the future Hurricane relief fund so next time a big storm comes they don't have to move to Houston. If they do that I will even give money to the cause, anything to keep them from moving here again :laugh2:

I know what you mean...LOL

A good friend of mine lives in Houston; I've heard all about the increase in crime you guys experienced since Katrina.

My family evacuated to Houston for 2 weeks...we would have gone back sooner if it had been possible, but they didn't allow us to go back right away. I'm grateful that the city of Houston opened its arms to those of us who needed a temporary place to stay.

Most people in Houston did not mind being there for our neighbors to the east. Donating and setting up shelters here in Houston to help those in need. After a while as we did see a rise in crime from those coming from NO it got to the point that enough was enough. I'm sure most of the people from NO who came here were upstanding people but many of the street gang members in that area as they came in more violent crimes became apparent

I saw a documentary where the gang-bangers in NO were saying if you get arrested for a murder, and they don't have enough evidence, they just let you go after 60 days. Couple this (if this is indeed the case), and the "no snitching" mentality, and suddenly shooting people doesn't become a big deal.
