Just because he wasnt happy with it doesnt make it an example of Jones forcing a player onto the field to justify drafting (or in this case trading) the guy.

And it was stupid to put the 600 yr old Testaverde back out there when 1) he was hurt and 2) our season was already over and the guy clearly had no future here.

People want to blame Jones for everything. But they cant make the argument he has decided who will and wont play, or how much. I cant think of any examples of this over the years regardless of who the coach was.

Our playoff lives were still mathmatically possible at the time I believe.

Jerry actually wanted to start his 1st Round LB but Bobby overruled him indicating he had his hands full with his ESPN assignments and would just as soon stay well rested for that.

Glad to see ESPN doing something constructive for once. ;)

And on Hutchinson... I think Quincy pretty much benched himself with the stories that have been told around here.

I was referring to the Chicago game.

Vinny was ready to go but Henson started the game.

Even though we had the lead at halftime Bill pulled the plug and went back to Vinny which sent fans into an uproar.

Not me. I was excited to see Henson get the start but when he went 4 of 12 with an int. I was ready to see Vinny come back. Like BP I think winning matters. Henson did not look good nor ready to take on the starting role.

He didn't look any different from any other rookie imo.

I believe the week before he didn't even throw an incompletion in his short time in.

It was the wrong move to go back to Vinny imo. We weren't going anywhere with him so we might as well have given Henson the rest of the year.

BP wanted to win the game that is why you play the games to win. Henson was not ready and has yet to show he is ready to this day. Coaches see these player day in and day out I do think they have a better ideal of what they have in a player. Henson unfortunately does not have what it takes be it in Dallas or any where else he has gone. In the end Romo was promoted to 2nd string and it was BP who when he felt Romo was ready and had shown enough in camp to warrent the oppertunity of the starting job because he went out and earned it.

I think Scandrick's value is two-fold.

Aside from being an outstanding prospect, his presence will hopefully push Jenkins to at least approach his vast potential. There was talk about Jenkins' need to be motivated when he came out of college, and it's great that a hungry, talented guy like Scandrick is breathing down his neck.

Scandrick will either win the job, or force Jenkins to step up and win it.

The Cowboys were still in the game when Henson was pulled. It was a busch league move by Parcells at that point.

Chad Hutchinson and Drew Henson

No way on earth did Bill want to pull his boy Vinny out.

LOL, thank you, those were my thoughts too!

Don't get me wrong though.

Im a Jerry Jones fanboy.

I even like what he has done as a GM since the day Bill stepped in.

Those 2 moves off the top of my head were all Jerry Jones imo.

I was talking about when Quincy got yanked pre-bill.

Q-Bong threw 4 picks in one half and was playing like utter garbage.

I'm with you--I'm a JJ fanboy too. I tell people stuff and they get all bent out of shape like I'm attacking him. They don't get that I'm complimenting his moves.

He ain't perfect, but loves the game, and love our team. I'd hate nothing more than to have an owner who just cared about the money.

Jerry makes mistakes here and there too (like Jimmy Johnson, though that was Johnson's fault too), all in all the man tries everything to make us a winner, and he wants superbowls just like us... because he loves the game.

Don't get me wrong, sometimes I want him to back off here and there, but overall we couldn't have asked for a more dedicated and win-oriented owner. We are fortunate IMO.

Mathematical maybe, but it was obvious that team had no shot.

After beating Chicago on Turkey Day we were 4-7. The previous 3 games (all losses) we were outscored a combined 105-34.

Other than Julius Jones' late season run and Jason Witten's excellence, that team was a waste of time.

I disagree. BP is trying to win games that is why he put Vinny into the game. Belive it or not coaches who are at practice every single day working with these players know a lot more about those players than any fan. Henson looked like crap out there and the fact is he still looks bad today. You think BP may have known something after all about Henson?

No way. Henson looked bad against an awful Bears team.

Henson looked totally lost. He had no concept at all. It was pathetic. Only JJ kept us in that game at all.

Why the FACT that Henson has FAILED everytime he has been given a chance with- what 4 SEPARATE TEAMS- just does not seem to register with some people. He was and is a turd as a QB. end of story.

I like Scandrick more than Jenkins but there isn't presently a lot of difference in the two. Jenkins should become the better player. We'll see. Either way they both can cover.
