I'm sure the coaches aren't happy with the way the defense played in the first half and addressed the issue in the 2nd half. They haven't lifted the foot off the gas pedal, as evidenced by playing starters through the end of the game, so I'm not worried about complacency. Like someone mentioned were just fans going along for the ride, just so the coaches and players are not satisfied yet is all that matters to me.

That defense was sick that we were running.

Rush 3 and just blitz like crazy.

Walk the whole team up to the line on the left side and then back out into coverage and come off the right side.

It was awesome.

I LOVE walking up to the line like that with three guys down and the defense not knowing what everybody else is going to do.

who was blitzing wasn't so predictable like it usually is.

What strange timing.

Cowboys get an impressive win: "bout to call everyone out for making excuses"

Not really...I've been pondering it for weeks.

Its because if we lose in the playoffs, lets say, one and done. I'll be madder than a poked hornets nest.

But many here will be "Oh but we didnt expect to make it this far anyhow, so its all good"

I really don't think that's true. As the seasons played out, just enjoying the ride has been common, but at this point everyone's sights are set higher. Obviously if the team can't pull it off, the future is bright and some will take solace but everyone will be disappointed.

The "built in excuses" have mostly been to keep perspective. Being critical of the team is cool, and part of being a fan. Being nitpicky despite so much awesomeness this year and against these odds... you can't have it all but we've come really close

Well a rookie QB has never won the Super Bowl, not an excuse just a reality.

Too many fans this year are rolling these wonderful built-in excuses

"But Dak is a rookie"
Dak is a rookie, a damn good one that has far exceeded anyone's expectations and has led the team to 13 wins. Is he perfect? no he isn't and he may or may not take us to the SB. Further more, he has kept Tony Romo on the sideline with his outstanding play.

"But Zeke is a rookie"
Zeke is a rookie, a damn good one, in case you haven't noticed. He too has far exceeded expectations, even for the 4th pick overall. Along with Dak, they have managed to rejuvenate the entire team, and the fan base. Will it continue to the SB? No one can answer that, but if you're a fan of the TEAM, you root as hard as you can for it.

"We thought we wouldnt be good"
How is this an "so called" excuse? It is a reality. Did you ever imagine we'd be here even before Tony got injured?

"When romo went down we thought the season was done"
Again, how is this an excuse? It is reality. Should we not be happy to be where we 're at? When your expectations are low, and you far exceed those expectations, you tend to be happy.

"This season has already surpassed my expectations"
again this is reality, not an excuse. There is nothing wrong with being happy about where we're at. We have far exceeded anyone's expectations.

Take a step back to last year at this time, were you happier?

I know what this is about, you can not accept that Tony couldn't make it out of training camp healthy and when he did get healthy, he didn't get his job back. Fow whatever reason there are a couple of folks on here who can't enjoy this season with Tony on the bench. Here's a suggestion, try rooting for the team and not just one player.

As for the rest of us, let us enjoy the rookies, and far exceeding our expectations for this team this year. You see, when Tony went out, the vast majority of us thought the season was done. Not one of us expected Kellen Moore to get us to this point, much less Dak.

Revel is the success of the team instead of thinking up what "excuses" you will use to bash the rest of us if we don't win the SB.

If you choose to be disgruntled, do it on your own, quit trying to bring the rest of down. Enjoy the ride, it doesn't happen every year.

This is how they plan to console themselves if we lose at some point.

My major problem with this line of thinking is it causes them to gloss over being objective about actual issues.

Try talking about an issue and you get "if its not perfection, its not good enough" or "13-2, you should just be happy" and a whole list of other statements showing they arent paying attention to reality.

Its not just about wins. If it was, 18-1 would be cool and revered.

Its ok to be objective and say our defense played horrible, or the offense only put up 7 points and that that is unacceptable for the team. Complacency gets no one anywhere. If you're not moving forward, you're moving backwards.

I'm rolling with 13 & 2

Excuse me if I have no excuses......

That's exactly right.

He's just trolling so that he can slip that nugget in if the Cowboys fall short of the SB.

Hardly, esp since my complaints from last nights game were...pre-snap penalties (nothing to do with the QB) and the defense (nothing to do with the QB). In fact, in another thread, I praised Dak for finally opening up and throwing some harder and deeper throws.

Keep trying though ;)

What will happen, will happen. We cannot control any of it, all we can do is sit back and enjoy it. Or don't, totally up to you.

I've always been a die-hard Dallas Cowboys partisan.

I am excited as hell right now but don't think it's unreasonable to express my critiques as I see them with our team. None of us here, I don't think lol, are professional football coaches or FO people. With that being said, there are alot of knowledgeable football fans and people here that have valid concerns about some aspects of the team.

I've made my concerns known over the season. We'll see how it all plays out in the playoffs.

Those same wonderful built-in excuses will be utilized as firepower by those just waiting for us to lose with a rookie QB and RB. News flash, We're going all the way so you can all toss the bullets out of the window while the bandwagon cruises along at 70mph.
