Elliott might not make it out of the first either...

He probably won't make it out.

If Dallas and Seattle continue tearing up the league with their run game and the Rams and Chargers get good production out of their first round backs... I think you'll see a full scale move towards drafting RB's earlier and taking a lot of OL early.

Because of the success Dallas had last year, we already saw more people wanting to improve their OL this year, and more backs going more quickly than they have in recent years.

You just know that Lil' Danny Snyder wanted a run game like Dallas so bad after last year that he acted like Callahan was Vince Lombardi himself and threw a ton of money at him... and then promptly told his new GM to pick some big OL come hell or high-water.

Passing on Leonard Williams for Scherff, lol. I mean, I really liked Scherff for RT or guard (only OL I liked better than La'el Collins)... but over Williams? C'mon.

Funny thing is, we got a big, aggressive guy who can be RT or guard as an undrafted free agent and they had to pass on Williams at pick 5 to get theirs.

They have Trent Williams and Brandon Scherff and nobody else. Dallas has T Smith, L Collins, T Frederick, Z Martin and D Free... with our third round pick and Leary as reserves.

I have to admit though... I like Trent Williams and Scherff as a start.

Booker was by far the best player available in the 3rd in that scenario.

There's a good chance none of those 1st 3 make it to the late 1st, so most likely they would be far and away bpa. If you can get those 2 backs in the 2nd and 3rd, by all means.

I was thinking about this earlier today and decided to issue a challenge to the Cowboys FO. I want to see if they can get 3 players with first round grades again next year.

I know its way early, but been looking at draft sites for next year already ... Will be very interesting to see what comp. picks we do end up with next year, 3, maybe 4 picks. And if one is relatively high - 4th I'm thinking. Could be a ton of picks to throw at the draft, so this year apart from rooting for the team to win (as always) will also be watching to really follow what we don't have. See how our RB by rotation works, will we have to drop a high pick on a stud runner. How will our cornerback rotation hold up etc. But I feel our top priority will be trying to find that elusive FS. DT because more talent never hurts. Do our LBers hold up, is Lee back, is RoMac here to stay or will we be looking for a middle backer.
To me, sustainability is what I'm looking for, and I'm trusting McClay to keep us near or around the top for years to come. I don't think we have to win the SB this year per say, - but it sure would be nice ! But next years draft could definitely be the one to put us over the top ....

Elliott is my second favorite RB behind Derrick Henry of Alabama.
I dont think Nick Chubb in Georgia comes out next year.
