I'm going to start with the QBs and move forward with other positions TBD.

Quarterbacks

Matt Cassel, Dallas Cowboys
Jimmy Clausen, Baltimore Ravens
Kellen Clemens, San Diego Chargers
Kirk Cousins, Washington Commanders
Chase Daniel, Kansas City Chiefs
Ryan Fitzpatrick, New York Jets
Matt Flynn, New Orleans Saints
Josh Freeman, Indianapolis Colts
Bruce Gradkowski, Pittsburgh Steelers
Matt Hasselbeck, Indianapolis Colts
Tarvaris Jackson, Seattle Seahawks
Josh Johnson, Buffalo Bills
Thad Lewis, Philadelphia Eagles
Ryan Lindley, Indianapolis Colts
Luke McCown, New Orleans Saints
Colt McCoy, Washington Commanders
Matt Moore, Miami Dolphins
Dan Orlovsky, Detroit Lions
Brock Osweiler, Denver Broncos
Matt Schaub, Baltimore Ravens
Drew Stanton, Arizona Cardinals
Scott Tolzien, Green Bay Packers
Mike Vick, Pittsburgh Steelers
Joe Webb, Carolina Panthers
Brandon Weeden, Houston Texans
Charlie Whitehurst, Indianapolis Colts
T.J. Yates, Houston Texans
Matt Flynn, New Orleans Saints

Some of these are going to be resigned. I'm not doing an exhaustive study of whom just listing them. Feel free to post corrections below and I'll try to edit it as necessary.

As you can see no one is letting a starting quality QB hit the streets. I believe we will pick up a FA and I'm hoping on a QB. They may feel this is not the year to spend a high pick on a QB though; and I'm talking around the #4 pick of the draft not later on.

I don't know these guys well enough to have an opinion of import so I'll listen to the input of the draft and player acquisition people here.

I don't 'love' any of the FA QBs but I wonder if Hasselbeck, McCoy, or Osweiler could do the job. All these guys have an adequate arm so it's really upstairs that counts.

I not even like carrying a FB. I think a big back can do that job. I like Tolbert who although is strictly a downhill runner, can catch the ball as well as block.

I like Rodgers as a compliment back. Blount is my idea of a big back who can play FB as well. I like the player for his role. I like some others but don't know them well enough to discuss.

I would not draft a running back sooner than 4-5 in this draft. We have too many other needs and it is a deep draft. This is a good draft to pick up your solid guys and hope to catch a better player.

I would be completely shocked if Denver doesn't sign him to a lucrative, long term deal. On the off chance that he becomes a FA, I doubt he would take a backup job after his performance this year.

Oh he will get paid because of his position but has he really proven he is that good? The Denver offense has plenty of skill players and they weren't really that good all season no matter who was QB. He was benched for Peyton Manning and statistically..Matt Cassel had a better year than Peyton Manning.

Osweiler will get some love but solely on his youth and position. He played like a backup QB should when he took over, he had a couple solid games but mainly just let the defense win for him. He may be good but he doesn't scream to me someone I would want to invest a long term deal into.

Home run signing.

Feels like a good fit but would probably be more expensive than I'd want

Would make me think the team thinks they are serious about contending in the next 2 years.

Like them all. Actually I'm not worried about the RB position. It'll sort itself out although I'd like a big back to go with Dunbar, DMC and Turbin. Maybe a back will fall to them.

Hasselbeck if we want to win if Romo goes down. RG3 if Cowboys serious about acquiring the most talented young QB to groom to replace Romo.

RG3 could actually be immediately incorporated into offense as the wildcat back on goal line, short yardage or 2 point conversions.

Further RG3 could also be used in Slash role as RB, WR or gadget play (direct snap to RB). RG3 would be the fastest player on the offense right now and includes Dez, DMC and Dunbar.

But that would mean the coaches would actually have to get a little creative and grow a set as well.

Ivory would complement McFadden best, if goal is to make DMC the feature AND future back.

Love Tukuafu as FB, he is a load at 275. Also plays blocking TE, ST sets and rotation DL.

I agree with most. I wouldn't sell the coaching staff short esp since we don't even have a RGIII on the team.

Wasn't aware of that about Tukuafu. Can he catch the ball out of the backfield? If he can't run more that a few yards without falling down or catch a pass and turn up field then I can't use him.

He can catch it but his primary purpose is to inflict pain. And large doses of it.

When Linehan states that RG3 not a good system fit then the Cowboys interview Zak Prescott, let's say my faith in the offensive coaching staff is less than favorable.

My question would be why does Linehan feel that way.

My question would be why does Linehan feel that way.

Perhaps it's because Linehan has very little experience as a QB whisperer. Was a QB in college but only couple years early in career as QB coach. Primarily a WR coach before promoted to OC. And he has no QB coaching experience in NFL. Was Saban's WR coach/OC before hired to OC the Rams. Linehan lost his star players after first season - Steven Jackson, Tory Holt and Marc Bulger. Went from 8-8 to 3-13 and finally fired after 0-4 start. Then hired by Schwartz as OC in Detroit and they were all fired.

Linehan is too new to the NFL game and never earned his bones before being handed keys to the car. Sound familiar?

LOL. RG3andOut is right there with Ryan Leaf and Drew Henson, imo. Massive bust that no coach, player or teammate likes. On that list I like Matt Hasselbeck, Moore and Fitzpatrick for backup purposes only. There is not a name on that list a rational person would think of the word "future".
