Perhaps it's because Linehan has very little experience as a QB whisperer. Was a QB in college but only couple years early in career as QB coach. Primarily a WR coach before promoted to OC. And he has no QB coaching experience in NFL. Was Saban's WR coach/OC before hired to OC the Rams. Linehan lost his star players after first season - Steven Jackson, Tory Holt and Marc Bulger. Went from 8-8 to 3-13 and finally fired after 0-4 start. Then hired by Schwartz as OC in Detroit and they were all fired.

Linehan is too new to the NFL game and never earned his bones before being handed keys to the car. Sound familiar?

He was HC of the Rams and OC of the Lions, Fins and Min previously. Before that he was an asst coach for years. So he has plenty of experience. Most OCs weren't QBs. Landry and Lombardi never played QB.

The common theme of some is the vast stupidity of the coaches and front office. It's like a HS biology student telling the Prof Emeritus he's stupid, doesn't know much, and was never qualified for his job.

I'd like Martin or Miller behind this oline. Young and can be nice compliment to McFadden. Also can become starter after this year.

Qb I'm sure we go low level and draft a guy after round 2. Imagine cowboys go hard after osweiler to be starter in few years? Doubt it happens but would shake up things.

Not sure why you are being so hostile I was only stating my opinion based on facts.

No they are not facts. They are a negative spin on what the facts are. I posted the facts. Not being hostile. Just moderating. Nothing personal.

A number of you are trolling. If you and others want to bash the front office or coaches take it to the appropriate thread or your posts will be deleted and/or you will be benched.

Everything I stated was a fact about Linehan, then I offered my opinion. Same as you.

No desire to spend big $ on a free agent RB. I'd rather go after a Chris Ivory or Alfred Morris type. Or even someone like Hillman, Starks or Powell. Drafting someone is the obvious answer to the solution, and the good thing about the RB position is that it doesn't have to be a 1st or even 2nd round pick.

McFadden, 3rd round pick, Hillman

Interested in seeing who you people think could help at receiver. Who are the 'unknowns' that might be of interest?

I don't think charles johnson is finished yet. He played hurt during the regular season and had little production. However he came on strong in the postseason, recording 3 sacks. I think he would add solid depth but I don't know what he would cost or whether he would take an incentive based deal.

I gave brief thought of him. I just don't know him well enough to opine.

QB: I like Matt Moore. Think he is a legit #2 and should be priced right.

RB: Lamar Miller if you can get him in under 15m guaranteed and under 6 per year. something like 5 years 27 with 10m SB and 1m yr 1, 4m in year 2 guaranteed. --but I don't think the team is even that generous at RB.
Other older vet guys like Forte if they will take a DMC contract.
Turpin/Dunbar is always an easy, very cheap combo and they know the offense.
I think the RB is a round 3-5 proposition. --much like I did last year.

WR: not much out there. I'd like to draft someone. We pay the big money to Dez.

FB: I'd like someone who is an upgrade. Stop telling me how important running is and how we need a top flight back if you are going to ignore FB. If we wanna be run first a FB is a need.
If we don't we don't need a RB upgrade at all.

TE: Coby Fleener interests me. He could be the Escobar type in this offense. We could also use a blocker... maybe Marty B wants ot come back... ok that was a joke, sorry but it did crack me up.

OL: I'd love to get Leary back but I do not take any chances on screwing over a guy then asking him to protect my 20m QB. Not saying he'd throw a lay down block just saying if he has zero motivation to study or workout bad things coudl happen.
Bern at about 2.5m a year would work again.

Pass Rusher: If we spend big I think it is here. Older short-term guy makes sense. Allow Gregory and any draft picks to grow up. But I suspect it has to be a guy known as a super professional effort guy. I'd love it to be a resigned Demarcus Ware.

CB: I'd be looking at Mo. Grass isn't always greener and two CBs have been franchised that have been considered top flight for months not years...I'd seriously consider Jalen Ramsay. Can play him much like Arizona does Honey Badger. Hybrid DB.

S: If a guy has started NFL games he's probbaly an upgrade. But Byron Jones may well be a special Safety as soon as this year.

DT: Round 2 and 3 look chock full of awesome DT fits in most mocks. I migh be tempted to go 3T at 34 and 1T in round 3. But I suspect Dallas resigns Hayden. Rod loves him.

I was just about to post this. Getting him and not attempting to draft another TE would really dip my wick. No more jumping back into the 7th for little to no return.

Also look at that head

We need to stop looking for a "back up" QB and try to find a replacement. TBH I'm okay with Moore for one more year and we can draft a guy. Those list of guys are no better than Moore. No one won anything besides Vick and Hasselback but those guys are pass their prime if you ask me.

With the list of vet RBs here I think I'd just go with FA for the position. Short-term contracts and get a couple of guys in to go with DMC. Plenty of cap space. No draft picks, wait till next year's bumper crop.
Edit: Also get some speed at WR. Like that's saying something profound.

I would love to have Floyd, but not sure if he'll be resigned. There are a lot of names on that list, though.
