I think that this pick means the Cowboys are fully going with the two TE offense set a lot more. If the new guy, who has excellent hands, can bring it down the field, who are you going to double cover?

And we need blockers for the running game and on passing downs one of them can help the tackles. Both could start at the same time. I like the pick.

I don't think it was a "best player available" pick at all. I think it was an offensive scheme strategy pick to have effective 2TE/2WR/1RB sets on offense. I think BP believes this will maximize passing options while keeping defenses honest because they can't commit to pass plays when the TE can stay in and block for the run. I think it also could be effective in keeping double coverage off TO.
