I’m not too stressed if they don’t reach on an OL early.

They can sign Dalton Risner for a year or two at LG
So a bandaid for a year or two, if they actually sign that guy. And what do they do next season when Tyron retires, and steele and Biadasz are UFA's? We are basically looking at a situation next season where all we have is an aging Martin and Tyler Smith.

Honestly, its a dire situation and easily the #1 need on the football team. I know many fans get caught up in the skill positions, but everything I have learned about the offense centers around the Oline. Without a top Oline, you might as well fold up shop.

I expect a guard in top 2-3 rounds. Wouldn’t shock me if it was 26. I could see a OT later too
A guard who can play center too would be a great find. Tipper man can play both

Only issue I have with a OG that can play C, is that dreaded position flex. That can screw up a rookie, no matter how smart they say he is. Seen it happen too many times.
I rather they draft a LG and put him there to stay and learn. They seem to like Farniok, so let him play more back up C and groom him to take over if Biadasz does not return. As well since he has already played some at OG, he does not need to spend all his time their.

I agree.
OL is a priority need still.
Even if you figure Tyron at LT and Tyler at LG, how much do you really expect to count on Tyron?
I love the guy, one of my fav Cowboys ever, but to count on him all season is foolish. I get we have Edoga who could fill in at LG with Tyler going back to LT in the likely event Tyron goes down, but a long term solution would be ideal.
To your point of G/C, I love Steve Avila from TCU. I think he'd likely be able to move to a starter at G quickly, the next year (when Tyler B, is a FA), we have some flexibility as he can play C too. Avila is a road grader, I LOVE the idea of him at LG and Tyler at LT long term. He's likely a 2nd rounder, but I doubt he lasts to 58. I actually like the idea of trading down from 26 and getting more assets.
I ran a mock recently, moved back several times, got Avila at like 50, then Ika at 58. With multiple 3rds and 4ths I grabbed Jack Campbell, Sam Laporta, Kyu Blu Kelly, Marvin Mims and Tank Bigsby. Ultimate haul and highly unlikely but fun nonetheless.

Yes more about the OL.
But for current status and draft day prospects, here it is.
Also has a player for a post day 1 prospect if they do not go OL 1st round.
I just rewatched both playoff games and offensive line was not the problem. Our issues were Dak had no weapons but CeeDee to throw the football too and for some reason we kept featuring Zeke. We need more weapons on offense.

I hate that term position flex...reminds me of the saying, jack of all trades, master of none.

Skoronski if he falls move to LG
Broderick Jones if he falls
Wright at LG would give them the power they've been looking for.
Bergeron at LG would be a great fit outstanding run blocker
Torrence wouldn't get bull rushed
Mauch would also be a good option at LG excellent run blocker
Tippmann could play OG or OC
Avila would be another good option
Mafi would be a wild card option but is pretty raw.

I’m all for devoting considerable resources to both the offensive and defensive lines. If anyone has watched our recent playoff appearances, getting overpowered on both sides of the ball has played a major role in our losses. I’d like to change that.

It will be an issue though. McGovern is gone, Biadiaz in the final year, smith is hurt all the time, and depth is lacking imo

I bet we take 2 in the first three picks plus maybe sign one more FA

OL depth is a need now and next year, but I highly doubt the Cowboys will be replacing both Steele and Biadasz in 2024. 1 or both could realistically be back. Also keep in mind they have this year and next year's draft to fill a starter need as well.

Cowboys should add an OLinemen by day 2 this year, but I'm not sweating if they don't come away with one in round 1.

We really only have one hole: LG. Sooner or later Tyler is going to LT and we need to be ready for that.
As regards Biadasz, the boys will be watching closely to see if he can take another significant step like he did last season. If he does they try and extend him, if not they move on.
Steele is a very good run blocker and average pass blocker; you can win with him though you should be alert to opportunities to improve
Martin has several more top years left; so no hurry there.
My preference is a big mean nasty road grader; not another dancer who cannot anchor or blow out DTs.

We need a starting guard THIS year. Big hole.

I agree they probably resign one of those guys. I would think Biadasz they resign.

I think more so the point isn’t to not draft a new guard.

More so the fact of, if the value is not there, Draft BPA. I don’t feel the need to force the pick.

I’m doing cartwheels if Avila is there at 58.

No need to force it. at 26 you can get probably the best guard in the draft or the OT from Tennessee that can play guard in the NFL. Perfect spot.

Highly doubt Avila is there at 58. Gotta go first round.

Dallas seems to allocate more first round picks or other premium picks on the OL than any other team. Maybe I'm overlooking a few, but they have to be near the top. After all that, each year in the draft I hear that they have pressing needs on the OL.

I guess the one differentiator is that Dallas doesn't sign outside free agents to big contracts on the OL (really, any position).

It's just strange to look at the draft capital they use for interior OL vs. DL.
