How does any of this help us win today? You're so negative, I just can't stand the whining and complaining about players speed this is irrelevant!:)

Deep hole that came out from...speed! For reference there is a ton of fast players on this very roster. For starters, at least 3 at 4.3 or better.

On top of that is very good functional speed in the receiver and secondary groups.

No real need for the physics for rocket science...just the landing points.

I was just giving him a hard time, you stay out of this this is personal between me and that fella!! Lol jk

Didn’t Jerry say Randal Williams ran a 4.09 40?
Obviously take it with a huge grain of salt and probably far from the truth but for some reason still remember that comment.

Curious on who our fastest DT was. Ratliff was 4.85 on his pro day
Was thinking of Glover but he ran a 5.31 which seems very slow for his play

Meh,... these are mere measurement numbers - give me the players who translated phenomenal measurement speed to the actual playing field.

Hayes, Dorsett, Deion, Hershel, Woodson, Parsons did that.

BTW, wasn't Dexter Coakley a 4.38 speed guy who made a Pro Bowl .. maybe he should've been mentioned
way more over a Bruce Carter.

You know XO better than I will ever comprehend, but 50 years worth of eye test has convinced me that straight-line speed in shorts is one thing, and “playing fast” with pads on is something else.

Pads....dirt/turf....home/away....al kinds of variables. Track speed is only one small part of it.

WR Hayes’ track times were on a dirt track not a modern track. Most sports historians consider Hayes’ times comparable to Bolts world records.

Safe to say Hayes was scary fast and created such an immediate mismatch for all def backs that the zone defense was created. Hayes should have been inducted into the ROH decades earlier.

No doubt about his contributions in track and as a Cowboy.

His reputation was hurt some because of his involvement with drugs and being arrested as a criminal. I loved watching in on the Cowboys as a fan.

Speed adjusted for size, weight and mass…Larry Allen the fastest ever? I think so.
