No doubt about his contributions in track and as a Cowboy.

His reputation was hurt some because of his involvement with drugs and being arrested as a criminal. I loved watching in on the Cowboys as a fan.
DALLAS, March 22 (AP) — Bob Hayes, an Olympic gold medal winner and a former Dallas Cowboy all‐pro receiver, was sentenced to five years in prison today for selling cocaine to an undercover agent.

State District Judge Richard Mayes also sentenced Hayes to seven years deferred probation on a charge of selling methaqualone to the officer. Hayes had pleaded guilty to drug trafficking charges last week, admitting that he twice sold cocaine to the undercover agent.

The judge sentenced him to five years in prison on each of the cocaine counts; the terms are to run concurrently. However, Richard Zidina, an assistant district attorney, said Hayes could be paroled in 10 months with good behavior.
