I agree with you there.

You can't really compare Tim's calls vs. Dirk's calls, however. Tim took the ball to the hoop time and time again in that game. When you do that, you're going to get calls. I think one of the fouls that Tim got was questionable, but when you're aggressive, you're going to get those calls. But the vast majority of the calls down low that Tim got were legit calls where Dampeer and Diop were hitting him in the head and hacking and pulling at his arms as he drove to the basket... there's no question about that. The other one that was ticky-tack was the one where Stack pulled on his jersey. But it was so out in the open it had to be called, and that wasn't even a shooting foul.

Dirk, on the other hand, always seemed to settle for jump shots. You're usually not going to get called for a foul on those unless you get the guy's arm. What's more, they went huge stretches of time without even trying to get him the ball. And even so, I think that first foul they called against Bowen when he was guarding Dirk was a phantom foul. He didn't even touch him.

As for the picture, I'm not sure, you're probably right. ESPN capitioned that it was on the final play, but maybe they were wrong.

this is the same old tired excuse that everyone brings to bowen.

excuse me while i yawn from the boredom.

bowen is a kick butt defender, and every team in the league would LOVE to have a guy who can D up your top offensive threat and then go down the floor and drain the game winning three-ball. and if you say otherwise...you don't know good basketball.


did michael jordan ever complain about being D'ed up good? no.
he went out and won anyway.

the mavs could learn a lot from jordan. not to mention bowen, who, oh by the way, has a couple more rings than Dirk.
