Fav fried chicken place

Babes is pretty good. I'd like to try Roscoe's out in Cali to compare. Other places in DFW that are popular are Hattie's and whatever Brother's has become.

Popeye's is edible for a chain, but it doesn't compare to a real fried chicken place.

I think I'll go the cayenne route. It sounds like the best way to go based on what I have in the house. I'll keep you posted on my progress.

And yes, you're right. I love popeye's spicy chicken. That's all I buy from there.

The flavor will penetrate the chicken more if you include it (hot sauce) in the marinade/soak. But it just depends what you're aiming for.

I don't fry chicken often, so I'm gonna play around with the recipe a few times and see which way appeals to my flavor palate.

Unless they just removed the spicy strips recently, I had them a few weeks ago..

Spicy strips? Or just regular?

Cant get the spicy strips here in South Florida. I ask every time, hoping, but they always say "we dont have those any more."

Has to be a local thing, they have spicey strips and nuggets here in No
Cal.

Monell's in Nashville. Hand's down, the best, and you get to eat it with a lot of other yummy goodies (it's a family style all-you-can-eat).

Must be local. Crazy. They took the best thing off of the menu.

Fast food = Popeyes by far.

I haven't really had fried chicken at a restaurant though. There's a place called Lucy's in Austin that's supposed to be the best though. I need to try it soon.

They don't have them out here but in Tx I like chicken express

We just got Popeyes in Charlotte and the line is always ridiculous. Way better than BoJangles

Forgot about Chicken express. I see 'em more up in North Texas than down here. The closest is in Huntsville.

They're a bit pricey, but in a pinch, I love their chicken strips.

Another place local to FW is Williams Chicken.

I wish there was a place here that was known for good fried chicken :(

There is a buffet that has surprisingly good fried chicken though. They put it out and its gone in minute. Pretty much the only reason I go there.

Williams is good, first location opened in Oak Cliff I believe? Since about 1/2 are franchised (something like 35 total locations across DFW and a few in E. and S. TX), some are A+, others...well, not so much.

The one nearest me used to be good. Changed franchisee and now I wouldn't touch it. Plus, they took livers off their menu...I'm OUT! :p:

Mr.Hiawatha Williams is quite an interesting gentleman to visit with.
