Favorite Cowboy moment

Too young to really remember the 90's Superbowl wins.

So Ill go with Emmitt breaking all time rushing record, Miles Austins KC game, or playoff win against the Eagles.

Roger Staubach and the boys beating the snot out of Denver in the SB. God i loved that team ... So many greats ... Roger, Tony Dorsett , Drew PEarson, Tony Hill, NEwsome, Danny White, The whole defense ... Everson Walls as a rookie, Cliff HArris ... MArtin, Too Tall Jones, Randy White

Lots of great memories. I especially enjoyed the story of the Hail Mary play that Everson 24 shared. What a great memory for someone to have with their family. I recall exactly where I was that day and watching that game with my Dad.

For me there have been so many great memories but I would have to say the proudest moment I have ever had as a Cowboy fan came at a moment when it was unexpected. It's a moment that not many people probably remember.

It came at halftime of SB XXVII when they were getting ready to start the second half. Bob Costas was talking about the second half and reminding viewers that the Bills had, just a few weeks before, come back from the largest deficit in playoff history to beat the Oilers. They then went to Tod Christensen who was the sideline reporter covering the Cowboys and he told this story. He said as Jimmy was coming out of the locker room at halftime he asked Jimmy what he told his team and whether he reminded them that this Bills team just came back from the largest deficit in playoff history to beat the Oilers?

Christensen then looked directly in the camera and said this..."He (speaking of Jimmy) looked at me and said, 'We aren't Houston'!"

That was an incredible moment! It brought chills to me. I was so nervous at that time wishing and praying for us to hold on and win our 3rd SB and when I heard that I knew we would win!! Jimmy was incredible!!

The Roger Staubach Hail Mary pass to Drew Pearson. My brothers were watching the game with me. They were age 11 and 10. The older one was a die hard Vikings fan at the time and the younger one was all Cowboys like me. After the Vikings took the 14-10 lead late in the game and all was looking lost my younger brother started crying because the season was about to end ( I felt like it too but we had company at our house that day so I held back the tears). The Viking fan brother then began to rub it in to my little brother while laughing telling him "Don't worry, There's always next year! Ha Ha".

Then after the Hail Mary play the roles were quickly reversed. The younger brother was now laughing(while still having tears in his eyes) and the older one now crying. Us two Cowboys fans re-enacted that play over and over that night while the Viking fan brother kept crying and saying that Pearson pushed off! Doing the barn chores that night was never more enjoyable. My younger brother died of cancer a few years later and that will probably always be my all time favorite Cowboys moment.
Wow. That was powerful.

No sir.

Mine will always be Roger's last game against the Commanders. Two TDs down with under 5 minutes to play and the playoffs on the line.

It was magic.

Great game, funny you choose Roger last game and I choose the birth of Roger as the Cowboys QB.

Thats right ... it was like 1981 when everson was a rookie.
Yes sir. Our young CB in 1977 was 1976 1st round pick Aaron Kyle.

The Alvin Harper catch on the post in the 1992 NFC Championship game that helped the Cowboys to the Superbowl comes to mind very quickly.

Of course Superbowl wins are up there without a doubt.

But my personal favorite moment definately has to be when Emmitt Smith broke the NFL Rushing Record. He's my all-time favorite Cowboy and that's definately my all-time favorite moment.

The Emmitt separated shoulder game. It's a long story, but that game symbolized to me what the Cowboys are truly about and I was never more proud of the team than that game.

The team carrying coach Landry after the win. When I see that, I always think to myself that Coach Landry looks as if 10, 000 tons have been lifted from his shoulders. He was genuinely happy.

Larry Cole's roll at 2:34 of this video. That's always the first thing I think of when somebody asks of a favorite Cowboys moment.

Aikman to Harper in SF is close, though.

Roger's last regular season game is there too.
