There's a lot of great ones out there what are your favorites? My favorites are Law & Order SVU, CSI Miami, and Criminal Minds in that order.

the First 48 because it's real, and it's hilarious how everyone is "hard" until they're facing a murder charge.

I'm a CSY: NY guy.

Mainly because my wife and daughter are always watching it and I got sucked in.

I've always been a big fan of crime shows on TV, going back to Hill Street Blues and NYPD Blue, and right now I'm enjoying the new one on USA, Common Law... it is at times quite funny, the two partners crack me up with their bickering... I thought it would be a stupid premise, but it kinda works...

You folks can laugh if you want, but I'm hooked on NCIS... don't care as much for the spinoff set in LA, but I had a real good time yesterday watching an NCIS marathon that covered the last season, shows I hadn't seen... vegged out on the sofa for like six hours...

On a semi-related note, it was a great viewing weekend for me, on Sunday I got to see two of my all-time favorite movies back to back-- We Were Soldiers, and Braveheart...

And Grandma's Boy is about to come on... :D

I'll bet I watched as much TV in the last two days than I have in the last two months...

The Killing, The Wire, Criminal Minds before Mandy Patinkin left. The Wire is probably the greatest crime show ever broadcast.

The phone's for you. I think it's the Devil

The first cop show I ever liked was Adam-12. It seems like ever since then I have always looked forward to one if I find one I like. I loved Hill Street Blues. I enjoyed SWAT for a while too. Really enjoyed Homicide, Life on the Streets. When it went off air I was pissed until Third Watch came along and I liked it because it was fire and police. I enjoy Criminal Minds a lot, but miss Jason Gideon as a character.

Believe it or not I have never seen an episode of LA Law or any of the CSI shows.

I remember thinking the swat theme music was so cool back in the day...

You aren't missing much. Outside of the original CSI series, they are all formulaic and cheesy, especially CSI Miami which is basically like a cartoon show.

I never could get into The Wire. I keep hearing people rave about it.

I borrowed season 1 from my neighbor a few years back and the story line moved along too slow for me. I think I only made it halfway through season 1 before I threw in the towel.

I'll have to reconsider giving it another try. Maybe I'll jump into a later season to see if it grabs me.

Same here, took me years to get past the first few episodes but I finished the next 4 seasons really quick. It gets much much better, but every season starts slow.

My girlfriend's brother-in-law is one of the Harris County detectives.

Hill Street Blues was also my favorite all time.

These days, I like Southland and Blue Bloods.
