The Killing, The Wire, Criminal Minds before Mandy Patinkin left. The Wire is probably the greatest crime show ever broadcast.

You hit it on the head. My favorite are The Wire, The shield (besides season 6) and Sons of Anarchy.

The Wire is the best ever because of its social commentary of every angle of a huge social epidemic. Not only that, the depth of the character "Omar" quite possibly is unparalleled in television.

I think my all time favorite was when I was a kid...Dragnet. I mean they started the show off with, "What you are about to see is REAL! The names have been changed to protect the innocent." Then at the end they would show the perps getting their mug shots taken and I thought, Dang, this is the real deal.

:laugh2:

I know, I know, stupid kid. But I loved it at the time.

I watch most of them too. NCIS La, Criminal Minds and Hawaii-5-0 (pretty good believe it or not). The only CSI worth anything now is NY. Wife made me watch Unforgettable, it is not too bad but I liked Prime Suspect with Maria Bello better (now cancelled).

Yeah, that's who it was...

No matter how many times I watch that movie, there's always a scene or two that breaks me up... often, it's the "my grandma drank my pot" line...

The first cop show I ever liked was Adam-12. It seems like ever since then I have always looked forward to one if I find one I like. I loved Hill Street Blues. I enjoyed SWAT for a while too. Really enjoyed Homicide, Life on the Streets.

Oh yeah, that was a great series...

When it went off air I was pissed until Third Watch came along

Another excellent choice...

Hill Street Blues oh wait I dated myself ;)

If they started that series today, it would still be popular... Sgt. Esterhaus was one of the true "characters" on TV... Belker the Biter was greatness, too...

I never could get into The Wire. I keep hearing people rave about it.

I borrowed season 1 from my neighbor a few years back and the story line moved along too slow for me. I think I only made it halfway through season 1 before I threw in the towel.

I'll have to reconsider giving it another try. Maybe I'll jump into a later season to see if it grabs me.
Same here. Season 1 gets better towards the end. Season 2 was ********, so I skipped to Season 4, which is some of the best TV I've ever seen :laugh2:

No love in here for The Shield. I didn't love the last season, but that show was awesome for a while.

My favorite episode was the one that had the parents smoking weed, and let their child drown in the bathtub... they had those parents flaked out on the sofa as if they couldn't move...

Talk about a wildly propagandistic misportrayal of the effects of weed... :D

It was funny watching him go from all pissed off to "hi, ma" in two seconds flat...
