What would be your favorite part of the country, money-aside, to live in and why? Maybe you can inspire me!

For example, Colorado because of the mountains/outdoors life, or Oregon because of the thick forests, Connecticut for the combination of seasons, near climbing and beach, etc...or Texas because of the Cowboys ;)

I think there are just so many great areas of this country.

Of course a lot of it comes down to where you grew up and how things about where you live, you like or dislike.

Lots of folks hate the cold, so that cuts out the north-east/north-Midwest. I've grown to dislike heat & humidity so that limits where I would like to live.

Some folks like lots of people around... some do not.

Some like the flat-lands, some do not.

I greatly enjoyed Seattle, Hawaii, Denver, San Antonio, Florida, Washington DC, Maine, Gettysburg, northern VA... each has its good points & negatives.

If i had an endless bank account:

Colorado
Idaho
Oregon
Washington

I love the state of Texas though...I just don't live in the right area of Texas.

I grew up in London, so I'd probably want to live somewhere darker and rainy. Right now I'm in Illinois and it's quite boring.

If not there...You might twist my ankle and force me to move to the Florida Keys.

Take away the traffic......SoCal!

Really what a great place weather wise southern California. Year around warmth like Florida but without the micro-wave like humidity.

But yeah, the traffic... ridiculous. Then you combine that with the cost of housing and potential water issues... Ugh.

The topic included money aside!

Water won't be a problem once this El Nino rolls around but it is very dry ATM :(

After living in Houston for nearly 40 years, no one could talk me into Florida.........the Keys might be an exception.....

I'm partial to NorCal, just because there are more interesting people up here (and a lot less traffic), but you can't go wrong with San Diego. It's a beautiful city.

I love San Fran too(Bay Area). I just like being in the ocean too much and can't do that up there :(

I will just have to stay South for 9 months and head North for three around Christmas :)

Northern CA is not bad either. Weather is great, no humidity. If you want the ocean you can drive to it and if you want snow you can do the same. Taxes are not that bad compare to growing up in NY.

I always wanted to live in the Pacific Northwest and my wife and I made it happen a few years ago by moving to Seattle. I have no regrets and I still love this part of the country.

Texas because of the people and laid back living. The Cowboys is icing on the cake.

I've lived in Key West twice. First time for 14 mths when I was mid 20's on Uncle Sam's "request". The second time was just 6 mths, after the Corps w/ my buddy Donald "The Duck" Morton. As in this Morton...
