What would be your favorite part of the country, money-aside, to live in and why? Maybe you can inspire me!
For example, Colorado because of the mountains/outdoors life, or Oregon because of the thick forests, Connecticut for the combination of seasons, near climbing and beach, etc...or Texas because of the Cowboys
We're now on the Big Island on the leeward side. Very hot and muggy here right now but that is highly unusual. Three and now two hurricanes stopping the NE tradewinds. I'll let you know in a couple of years what we got here. Going to get a boat which should make the fun non-stop.
Got room for two visitors? Will treat ya to a UH football game
You gonna fly us up and back to Oahu for the game?
Heck yea, maybe even go by boat!
LOL. It's 30-40 min flight so get a fast boat.
It sure as hell aint Oklahoma. Still not sure how I ended up here
I love living in Connecticut. (Suburb of NYC) It's beautiful with rolling hills full of trees, near the water, yet protected by Long Island when hurricanes come yet still extremely close to NYC so you get all the benefits of being there. Not to mention, property taxes (your house) are far far cheaper than in NY state. I have to pay property tax on my car too, but it's only about $300 per year. The taxes on my house were half what I would have paid in NY state. (way more than 10x the tax I pay for my car tax)
Hey Sam - Where are you at up there? I was dating a girl from New Canaan for a while...now granted that's like Richville USA and ridiculously beautiful, I found a lot of CT really nice in that direction.
Hah, I used to have a house in Darien which is right next to New Canaan. (The high schools are rivels) When my ex and I split, I sold the house. I have an apt in Danbury now. Terrible area to live if I decided to go back there work in the city, but while working in Westchester (west side of), its not too bad. My apt is the best thing I found that wasn't $5k/month. (In White Plains or Stamford it is $5k/month for something similar). So, that's why I'm in Danbury for now.
Hope to buy a house possibly back in Darien in a year or so. ( gotta save so cash for the new house)
I always wanted to live in the Pacific Northwest and my wife and I made it happen a few years ago by moving to Seattle. I have no regrets and I still love this part of the country.
