PETRA - CREED

I believe in God the Father - maker of heaven and earth
And in Jesus Christ His only Son
I believe in the virgin birth
I believe in the Man of Sorrows bruised for iniquities
I believe in the Lamb who was
crucified and hung between two thieves

I believe in the resurrection on the
third and glorious day
And I believe in the empty tomb and the
stone that the angel rolled away
He descended and set the captives free
And now He sits at God's right hand
and prepares a place for me

(Chorus)
This is my creed - the witness I have heard
The faith that has endured
This truth is assured
Through the darkest ages past
Though persecuted, it will last
And I will hold steadfast to this creed

I believe He sent His Spirit to comfort and to reveal
To lead us into the truth and light, to baptize and to seal
I believe that He will come back the way He went away
And receive us all unto Himself, but no man knows the day

I believe He is the Judge of all men, small and great
The resurrected souls of men receive from Him their fate
Some to death and some to life, some to their reward
Some to sing eternal praise forever to our Lord

Also:

Barren Cross (Christian version of Iron Maiden IMO) - King of Kings

There's a mountain up in the Havens
That can never ever be moved
He's the Father of all creation
And He knows you even better than you do

He's the rock, the great I
Am, the reason why we sing,
He's the

King of kings, the master of all things
The power and the source
The everlasting force

You and I are just one of creation
We were formed in the beginning of time
God took some sand and made it flesh
With one breath
Created the first man

He's the rock, the great I
[ Lyrics found at www.mp3lyrics.org/sCQ ]
Am, the reason why we sing,
He's the

[ Chorus ]

In the beginning, God created the
heavens and the earth,
This magnificent earth
All the mountains and the trees
All the creatures that fill the seas
His earth, this beautiful earth

He's the

[ Chorus ]

In the beginning
God created the heavens and the Earth
This magnificent Earth
With all the mountains and the trees
And all the creatures that fill the seas
It is Earth, This beautiful Earth
Earth, Earth, Earth

King of kings

My fav band!!! Iron Maiden :yourock:

Hallowed Be Thy Name

I'm waiting in my cold cell, when the bell begins to chime.
Reflecting on my past life and it doesn't have much time.
'Cause at 5 o'clock they take me to the Gallows pole,
The sands of time for me are running low.

When the priest comes to read me the last rites,
I take a look through the bars at the last sights,
Of a world that has gone very wrong for me.

Can it be that there's some sort of error.
Hard to stop the surmounting terror.
Is it really the end, not some crazy dream.

Somebody please tell me that I'm dreaming,
It's not so easy to stop from screaming,
The words escape me when I try to speak.
Tears flow but why am I crying,
After all I'm not afraid of dying.
Don't I believe that there never is an end.

As the guards march me out to the courtyard,
Somebody cries from a cell "God be with you".
If there's a God then why has he let me go?

As I walk all my life drifts before me,
Though the end is near I'm not sorry.
Catch my soul, it's willing to fly away.

Mark my words believe my soul lives on.
Don't worry now that I have gone.
I've gone beyond to seek the truth.

When you know that your time is close at hand.
Maybe then you'll begin to understand,
Life down here is just a strange illusion

Heey jeey yeahh. Hallowed be thy name
Yeeeeeahh!

Pink Floyd anyone?

http://login.tracking101.com/ez/bvddydfqeqkg/&dp=580986&tid=64&artist=Pink+Floyd
Hello.
Is there anybody in there?
Just nod if you can hear me.
Is there anyone home?

Come on, now.
I hear youre feeling down.
Well I can ease your pain,
Get you on your feet again.

Relax.
I need some information first.
Just the basic facts:
Can you show me where it hurts?

There is no pain, you are receding.
A distant ships smoke on the horizon.
You are only coming through in waves.
Your lips move but I cant hear what youre sayin.
When I was a child I had a fever.
My hands felt just like two balloons.
Now I got that feeling once again.
I cant explain, you would not understand.
This is not how I am.
I have become comfortably numb.

Ok.
Just a little pinprick. [ping]
Therell be no more --aaaaaahhhhh!
But you may feel a little sick.

Can you stand up?
I do believe its working. good.
Thatll keep you going for the show.
Come on its time to go.

There is no pain, you are receding.
A distant ships smoke on the horizon.
You are only coming through in waves.
Your lips move but I cant hear what youre sayin.
When I was a child I caught a fleeting glimpse,
Out of the corner of my eye.
I turned to look but it was gone.
I cannot put my finger on it now.
The child is grown, the dream is gone.
I have become comfortably numb.

Petra is my all time favorite band. Up until last summer I had every single one of thier albums (cassette tape form). When my house flooded they were ruined.

If you like Maiden you should check out Barren Cross.

This song came out in 1969. It is still very, very, very relevant to me today. Merle Haggard sings the hell out of it too.

I hear people talkin' bad,
About the way we have to live here in this country,
Harpin' on the wars we fight,
An' gripin' 'bout the way things oughta be.
An' I don't mind 'em switchin' sides,
An' standin' up for things they believe in.
When they're runnin' down my country, man,
They're walkin' on the fightin' side of me.
Yeah, walkin' on the fightin' side of me.
Runnin' down the way of life,
Our fightin' men have fought and died to keep.
If you don't love it, leave it:
Let this song I'm singin' be a warnin'.
If you're runnin' down my country, man,
You're walkin' on the fightin' side of me.

I read about some squirrely guy,
Who claims, he just don't believe in fightin'.
An' I wonder just how long,
The rest of us can count on bein' free.
They love our milk an' honey,
But they preach about some other way of livin'.
When they're runnin' down my country, hoss,
They're walkin' on the fightin' side of me.

Yeah, walkin' on the fightin' side of me.
Runnin' down the way of life,
Our fightin' men have fought and died to keep.
If you don't love it, leave it:
Let this song I'm singin' be a warnin'.

That reminded me of this Charlie Daniels song:

We'll the eagle's been flying slow,
and the flag's been flying low,
and a lot of people's saying that America's fixing to fall.
But speaking just for me
and some people from Tennessee,
we got a thing or two to tell you all.
This lady may have stumbled
but she ain't never fell.
And if the Russians don't believe that
they can all go straight to hell.
We're gonna put her feet back on the path
of the righteousness and then
God bless America again.

And you never did think that it ever would happen again
In America, did you?
You never did think that we'd ever get together again.
Well we damn sure did.
We're walking real proud and we're talking real loud again
in America.
You never did think that it ever would happen again.

From the sound up in Long Island
out to San Francisco Bay,
and ev'ry thing that's in between them is our home.
And we may have done a little bit of fighting amongst ourselves,
but you outside people best leave us alone.
Cause we'll all stick together
and you can take that to the bank.
That's the cowboys and the hippies
and the rebels and the yanks.
You just go and lay your hand
on a Pittsburgh Steelers fan
and I think you're gonna finally understand.

And you never did think that it ever would happen again
In America, did you?
You never did think that we'd ever get together again.
Well we damn sure did.
We're walking real proud and we're talking real loud again
in America.
You never did think that it ever would happen again.

Here's some trivia for you. He performed that song live in 1980 as a statement about the US Hostages in Iran. It was the first time he had ever performed it. No one had ever heard it before. It received the longest standing ovation in US Television History.

Desert loving in your eyes all the way.
If I listened to your lies would you say
I'm a man (a man) without conviction,
I'm a man (a man) who doesn't know
how to sell (to sell) a contradiction.
You come and go, you come and go.

Karma karma karma karma karma chameleon,
you come and go, you come and go.
Loving would be easy if your colors were like my dreams,
red gold and green, red gold and green.

Didn't hear your wicked words every day
and you used to be so sweet, I heard you say
that my love (my love) was an addiction.
When we cling (we cling) our love is strong.
When you go (you go) you're gone forever.
You string along, you string along.

Karma karma karma karma karma chameleon,
you come and go, you come and go.
Loving would be easy if your colors were like my dreams,
red gold and green, red gold and green.

Every day is like survival (sur-vi-val),
you're my lover (you're my lover), not my rival.

For the Johnny Cash fans.

There is a song that Danzig wrote and after writing and recording it he felt it would be the perfect song for Johnny Cash.

So Johnny also recorded it.

It is called Thirteen.

Cool song, I like the Johnny Version better.

I pray you don't look my way, I pray I don't look back.

Melissa by the Allman Brothers is one of my all-time favorites, too. Love listening to that while cruising on a long lonely stretch of road.

I was cutting the rug
At a place called
The Jug
With a girl named Linda Lou
When in came a man
With a gun in his hand
And he was looking
For you know who
I said wait a minute mister
I didn't even kiss her
I don't want no trouble
With you

My favorite Skynyrd tune has never been a huge hit. The Ballad of Curtis Lowe.

well I used to wake the mornin
befor the rooster crowed
searchin for soda bottles to get my self some dough
brought em down to the corner
down to the country store
cash em in and give my money to a man named Curtis Lowe
old Curt was a black man with white curly hair
when he had a fifth of wine he didnot have a care
he used to own and old dobro used to play across his knee
I'd give old Curt my money he play all day for me

(chours)
play me a song Curtis Lowe Curtis Lowe
well I got your drinkin money tune up your dobro
people said he was useless them people all were fools
cuz Curtis Lowe was the finest picker to ever play the blues

he looked to be 60 maybe I was 10
momma used to whoop me
but I'd go see him again
I'd clap my hands, stomp my feet tryin to keep in time
well he'd play me a song or 2 then take another drink of wine

(chours)
play me a song Curtis Lowe Curtis Lowe
well I got your drinkin money tune up your dobro
people said he was useless but them people all were fools
cuz Curtis Lowe was the finest picker to ever play the blues

on the day old Curtis died nobody came to pray
old preacher said some words
they chucked him in the clay
well he lived a lifetime playin the black mans blues
and on the day he lost his life thats all he had to lose

Think my all time LS lyrics are:

Gimme Back My Bullets.

Gimme back my bullets
Put 'em back where they belong
Ain't foolin' around, 'cause I done had my fun
Ain't gonna see no more damage done
Gimme back, gimme back my bullets
Oh put 'em back where they belong
Gimme back my bullets
