aight.. i'll play.
1)
genre: rap old school style.
mr coop. flatlands
http://www.amazon.com/Poisonous-Game-Mr-Coop/dp/B000005CFY
this is seriously obscure so no youtube links. you gotta go to amazon them click sample... it's song 12 flatlands.
i went to texas tech and saw the dude at the club a few times.
he was never a big star but lubbock is small and he shined there.
never seen lubbock summed up better.
2)
genre: grunge/hard rock
nirvana serve the servants
on 'In Utero' so not completely obscure but one of the least noticed Nirvana songs and its completely kick butt. very simple and to the friggin point.
i absolutely cherish the more polished nevermind album but this is basically the raw, pained cobain.
http://listen.grooveshark.com/#/search/?query=serve the servants
choose the in utero version imho.
3)
genre: classic rock/hard rock/legendary
led zeppelin hey, hey, what can i do
b-side release, best description of a high maintenance bow-head(sorority, party girl) i ever heard, lol. related to this as a college kid for true.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X9fh0HQTvko
4)
genre: country ---I am not a big country fan so this is hardly obscure....
HOWEVER, you simply must see the live, long version of this song.
garth brooks friends in low places.
again i am not a big country fan but this is absolutely to me the essence of all things country as well as just being about a 100% accurate representation of the male personality.
