Got this from Rotoworld. How dumb can Favre be if this is true?

Packers have Favre's phone records

The Packers filed tampering charges against the Vikings last week, and it turns out that they might have plenty of proof. Brett Favre reportedly continued to use a Packers-issued phone, and the phone logs reveal “repeated calls to [Vikings] coach Brad Childress and offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell.” (Minneapolis Star Tribune)

He's just a drama queen, but for some reason, he'll never be treated the same way as a guy like TO.

Everybody knows the reason. Just like him saying its not his job to help out Aaron Rodgers. Brett gets a free pass on damn near anything. He could kill two senior citizens and people would say "well they were going to die soon anyway Brett did the right thing by putting them out of their misery".

Packers fans would say "well, that is they way they would have wanted to go".

Report: Packers have Favre’s phone records
July 22nd, 2008 – 2:05 PM by Judd Zulgad

As we await the NFL’s decision on the tampering charges filed by the Packers against the Vikings for “inappropriate dialogue” with Brett Favre, Bob McGinn of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel had an interesting bit of information in a piece he wrote about the quarterback today.

McGinn writes that a source said Favre had continued to use a Packers-issued cell phone and that when the team checked the phone records it found “repeated calls to coach Brad Childress and offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell.”

The possibility of Favre having used a phone issued by the Packers had been speculated on last week after the Associated Press reported that Green Bay informed the NFL it felt “an investigation of the phone records would show more than ‘normal contact’ between the Vikings and Favre, even before he formally asked for his release to play for another team.”

Bevell served as Favre’s quarterbacks coach in Green Bay from 2003-05 and the two have remained close. That relationship made it difficult to believe the Packers could prove much by simply pointing to conversations between Bevell and Favre. However, if Favre’s phone records also point to conversations with Childress that could be a different story.

The Vikings have remained mostly quiet on this subject since news broke nearly a week ago that tampering charges had been filed. Minnesota issued a statement last Thursday, saying the Vikings “are not commenting on this issue. These types of matters are handled by the league.”

Nothing about Favre surprises me.

This guy has been a drama queen/glory hog for years. He has manipulated the media for years and has a subtle way of enhancing his image by acting the part of the country good ol' boy who just loves to play the game.

He doesn't scream for attention like Chad Johnson. His way is subtle and more effective.

Looks like he's starting to slip, though. Dumb mistake on his part.

I can't imagine Aikman pulling a stunt like this ... calling the Commanders to try to be their QB a couple of months after tearfully retiring as a Cowboy.

That's what I was thinking... That and that someone needs to make the image in this thread a lot smaller.

The Vikings, if found guilty, could face penalties that include loss of draft picks and/or fines.

If the Packers do have phone records showing Favre repeatedly called Minny HC Childress, Childress could be in trouble. Favre can't be punished for instituting the contact but Childress fully aware of the "no tampering" rule and by repeatedly accepting Favre's phone calls he allowed a relationship to continue/develop which he had no business being a part of. Sure would be interesting to know the time frame Favre made those calls & length of conversation. Bet Childress/Minny distraught that content with Favre has become public and that Favre was so stupid as to use the Pack phone card/cell phone.

Didn't Chicago Bears file tampering charges against another NFL team for talking to Bear defensive player Briggs. Think that team lost a 3rd round pick to the Bears as a result.

Too bad we didn't catch the Dolphins talking to one of our RFA or to Flozel Adams before they allowed to do so; same goes for MBIII or Hamlin. Would love to get the Dolphins high 2nd rounder in 2009. We'd be in real good shape to draft another really good player, particulalry a WR.

Much ado about nothing IMO. I'm so sick of this arse. He probably did it on purpose: he's such an attention ***** that he probably figured the Pack would lick his boots and come running when they realized he was flirting with Minny. He cares about no one but himself: same ole' Brett. Can't stand him.

I think if they are short calls its debatable. Vikings claim - Favre kept calling us. Don't inbound calls also show up on bill? Or if the calls lasted 30+ minutes Vikings are screwed.

I still want to know why its tampering if the guy is retired.

why couldn't the Vikings be calling about offering him a coaching position?

Thats what I would say.

Kiss my *** Packers, you better have tapes.

Adam Schefter on Total Access claimed the Packers called at least 20 teams to guage interest level in Favre.
